Tyler Collins (born October 29, 1965) is an American R&B singer and actress. Her song " Girls Nite Out" was a hit in 1990. Biography Collins was born in Harlem, New York and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Collins began taking lessons in dance and theatre, and performing with the children's theatre group Willow Opera Workshop in Los Angeles, California. Her professional music career began singing lead for an R&B group called The Boys Next Door. The group signed with Jermaine Jackson's label, Work Records, which later folded. Tyler eventually signed with RCA Records and released her debut album '' Girls Nite Out''. She co-wrote the lead single "Whatcha Gonna Do" which peaked at #8 on the Billboard R&B chart. The music video for "Whatcha Gonna Do" was directed by Michael Bay and edited by Scott C. Wilson. Tyler Collins is an American actor and composer from Anchorage, Alaska. He is possibly best known for his role as the Boy in '' Just Say Hi'' and as James in '' Where Do We Go from Here?'' in which he was nominated for the Best Actor accolade at the 2015 Sydney Indie Film Festival in Australia. He later went on to win the Best Score award at the same event for his composition work on the film. Early life and film career Collins was born in Anchorage in Alaska. His father was a musician who was drafted into the army during the Vietnam War and was given the option of serving in South East Asia or Alaska. His mother was from Connecticut but moved to Anchorage with her family when she was twelve years old. Collins studied at Interlochen Arts Academy, having been awarded a scholarship. It was whilst studying acting at the school that he learned about the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland after a deputation from staff members of the institution.
