Tri-County Conference (Illinois)
The Tri-County Conference is a high school conference in north central Illinois. The conference participates in athletics and activities in the Illinois High School Association. The conference incorporates 8 small public and 2 small private high schools, with enrollments between 82-428 students in LaSalle, Livingston, Marshall, Putnam, and Woodford counties. History The first year of competition for the Tri-County was 1927 with ten charter schools: Hennepin, Henry, Hopkins Township in Granville, Lacon, Lostant, Magnolia, Senachwine Township in Putnam, McNabb Swaney, Tonica, and Varna. During the lifetime of the conference, most of these ten very small rural schools have remained in the league in one form or another. Some have left and returned and many of them have consolidated to become new entities. Regardless, the conference has changed many times over the years. The Tri-County Conference (TCC) is an athletic conference consisting of both public and parochial high schools located in Camden County, Cape May County, Cumberland County, Gloucester County and Salem County, New Jersey. Although it is called the ''Tri''-County Conference, five counties are represented. The Tri-County Conference operates under the aegis of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association. History The conference was first established in 1928, and has four divisions: Royal, Diamond, Classic, and Liberty. The Liberty Division was added in 2018 to close the student disparity gap in order to create better competition in each division and more competitive crossover games. Tri-County Conference (Northern Indiana)
The Tri-County Conference was a league that ran from 1950 to 1965, and is considered a direct forerunner to the Mid-Indiana Conference. The league began in 1950 as the Howard-Miami Conference, as the three schools left from the post-consolidation Howard County Conference joined with three schools from Miami County. The conference changed its name to the TCC when Swayzee and Sweetser, from Grant County joined. When school consolidation forced the conference to look outside its footprint to find similar-sized schools, in 1965 it became the current MIC. This should not be confused with conferences of the same name based in the southern and western portions of the state. Tri-County Conference (Southern Indiana)
The Tri-County Conference (not to be confused with the conference of the same name located in the northern or western portions of the state) was located in Jefferson, Jennings, and Ripley counties in the southeastern part of Indiana. Originally the Jennings County Conference, when the Laughery Valley Conference was formed, it left Ripley County without enough schools to continue their county league, and the remaining schools were absorbed into the rebranded Jennings-Ripley County Conference in 1941. With many smaller schools in the area continuing to be consolidated into their slightly larger neighbors, both the JRCC and Jefferson County Conference continued to shrink in size.
