Todd Nance
Todd Nance (November 20, 1962August 19, 2020) was an American musician. He was best known as the original drummer of Widespread Panic, a band he was a member of until his departure in 2016. He struggled with chronic illness for the remainder of his life, ultimately leading up to his death in 2020. Early life Todd Nance was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. As a child, he began playing the guitar; subsequently he was given his first drum kit on Christmas Day, 1975. It was around this time that he attended his first concert, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and was inspired to pursue music more seriously. He first met his future Widespread Panic bandmate Michael Houser in high school in either 1977 or 1978 and they formed the band Just Us. After graduating from Chattanooga Central High School in 1981, Nance moved to Atlanta. Duane Trucks (born December 28, 1988) is an American musician best known as the current drummer for Widespread Panic and Hard Working Americans. Life and career Duane Trucks was born on December 28, 1988, in Jacksonville, Florida. He began learning to play drums at the age of two and was given his first drum kit on his third birthday. His first foray into being a professional musician was with bands led by Col. Bruce Hampton. He performed with Hampton in the Pharaoh Gummit beginning in the mid-2000s and became a founding member of one of Hampton's backup bands, The Quark Alliance, in 2007. He became a founding member of Flannel Church, a band that includes fellow Hampton collaborator A. J. Ghent, in 2010. They played a number of festivals including the 2013 Wanee Music Festival. David Barbe (pronounced ˈbɑɹ.bi BAR-bee; born September 30, 1963) is an American musician and producer/engineer from Athens, Georgia, and director of the Music Business Certificate Program at the University of Georgia. He is chief of Chase Park Transduction studio in Athens. Barbe is known for his work as a songwriter, singer, guitarist, and bass guitarist in Sugar, Mercyland, and Buzz Hungry, as well as solo performances. Jerry Joseph (born April 19, 1961) is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Early life Jerry Joseph was born on April 19, 1961, in Los Angeles, California. He is of Irish, Lebanese and Syrian ancestry and grew up in the San Diego area. In high school, he began experiencing trouble and was sent by his parents to a boarding school in New Zealand, where he started playing guitar professionally at age 15.
