He is especially known for his 1968 hit recording of "Tiptoe Through the Tulips", a cover of the popular song "Tiptoe Through the Tulips with Me" from the 1929 musical '' Gold Diggers of Broadway''. Tiny Tim was renowned for his wide vocal range, in particular his far-reaching falsetto. Life and career Early years Tiny Tim was born Herbert Khaury in Manhattan, New York City, on April 12, 1932. Tim Cahill
Timothy Filiga Cahill (; born 6 December 1979) is an Australian former professional soccer player who played as an attacking midfielder but also played as a striker on many occasions. A box-to-box midfielder, Cahill became recognised for "his aggressive and powerful approach and his ability to head the ball in the penalty area". Cahill has scored 50 goals in 108 caps between 2004 and 2018 and is regarded as one of the greatest Australian Football players of all time. He currently works as a pundit for BBC Sport and Sky Sports. In 1997, Cahill left Sydney for England to play professionally; there he was signed by Millwall on a free transfer from Sydney United. :; Tiny Tim Cratchit is a fictional character from the 1843 novella ''A Christmas Carol'' by Charles Dickens. Although seen only briefly, he is a major character, and serves as an important symbol of the consequences of the protagonist's choices. Character overview Tiny Tim is the young, ailing son of Bob Cratchit, Ebenezer Scrooge’s underpaid clerk. When Scrooge is visited by the Ghost of Christmas Present he is shown just how ill the boy really is (the family cannot afford to properly treat him on the salary Scrooge pays Cratchit). When visited by the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, Scrooge is shown that Tiny Tim will die. This, and several other visions, leads Scrooge to reform his ways. At the end of the story, Dickens makes it explicit that Tiny Tim does not die, and Scrooge becomes a "second father" to him. ''Tiny Tim'' was an American Sunday strip created by Stanley Link. It ran from October 4, 1931, to March 2, 1958. It followed the adventures of Tim Grunt and his sister Dotty, both only two inches tall at the start of the strip. However, they grew six inches during the first three months. After that, they were taken in by a farm couple. Eventually, a gypsy grew them to slightly less than normal size, and Dotty disappeared. On April 13, 1941, the gypsy gave Tim an amulet An amulet, also known as a good luck charm or phylactery, is an object believed to confer protection upon its possessor. The word "amulet" comes from the Latin word , which Pliny's ''Natural History'' describes as "an object that protects a perso ... that said "Nemesis of All Evil". ''The Topper'' was a UK comic published by D. C. Thomson & Co. Ltd that ran from 7 February 1953 to 15 September 1990, when it merged with '' The Beezer''. A strip named " Mickey the Monkey" originally appeared on the front cover. In 1973, it was replaced by " Send for Kelly", by " Danny's Tranny" in 1975, briefly by "The Whizzers from Oz" in 1979, and again in 1979 by " Tricky Dicky". " Beryl the Peril" took over on 24 May 1986, and remained there until the merger with ''The Beezer''. Unlike most other comics at the time, which were half tabloid size, the Topper was for many years full tabloid. It changed to A4 in 1980, one year before ''The Beezer''. The Tiny Tim was an American air-to-ground rocket used near the end of the Second World War and during the Korean War. The Tiny Tim was also instrumental for further research in civilian and military rocketry. Development The Tiny Tim was built in response to a United States Navy requirement for an anti-ship rocket capable of hitting ships from outside of their anti-aircraft range, with a payload capable of sinking heavy shipping. The Tiny Tim was manufactured using 11.75-inch (298 mm) pipe, which was chosen because it was already being manufactured for oil well casings. This also allowed using four modified High Velocity Aircraft Rocket, Holy Moses propellant charges, and payload adapted from 12-inch naval gun Shell (projectile), shells.
