The Primitives
The Primitives are an English indie pop band from Coventry, best known for their 1988 international hit single "Crash (The Primitives song), Crash". Formed in 1984, disbanded in 1992 and reformed in 2009, the band's two constant members throughout their recording career have been vocalist Tracy Tracy and guitarist Paul "PJ" Court. Drummer Tig Williams has been a constant member since 1987. Often described as an indie pop or indie rock band, the Primitives' musical style can also be seen as straddling power pop, new wave music, new wave and post-punk. Transvision Vamp
Transvision Vamp were a British pop rock band. Formed in 1986 by Nick Christian Sayer and Wendy James, the band enjoyed chart success in the late 1980s, particularly in 1989. James, the lead singer and focal-point of the group, attracted media attention with her sexually charged and rebellious image. The band had 10 UK chart hits and also enjoyed considerable success in Australia. Transvision Vamp's top single was 1989's "Baby I Don't Care", which reached number three in the UK and Australian charts. The O Forum Kentish Town is a concert venue in Kentish Town, London, England, owned by Live Nation Entertainment and originally built in 1934. History The venue was built in 1934 and was originally used as an art deco cinema. After the cinema was closed, the venue re-opened as an Irish dance hall. In the 1980s, it changed directions from a bingo hall, to a dance hall and then to a live music venue under the name Town & Country Club. In 1993, Mean Fiddler Music Group purchased the venue and renamed it the London Forum. The final show at the T&C was Van Morrison on 21 March 1993. From 2009-2013 the venue was named the HMV Forum. ''Pure'' is the second studio album by the British band The Primitives, released in 1989 as the follow-up to their debut, '' Lovely''. The line-up changed slightly over the course of the previous year: Steve Dullaghan was replaced on the bass guitar by Paul Sampson, who also shared the production duties with Wayne Morris. The first U.S. single from ''Pure'' was "Sick of It", which reached #24 in the UK. ''Pure'' also features "Way Behind Me", a single which was actually released shortly after the debut album (rising to #36 on the UK charts in 1988) and added to all future editions of '' Lovely''.
