''The Graduate'' is a 1967 American independent romantic comedy-drama film directed by Mike Nichols and written by Buck Henry and Calder Willingham, based on the 1963 novella by Charles Webb. ''The Graduate'' is a 1963 novella by Charles Webb, who wrote it shortly after graduating from Williams College. It tells the story of Benjamin Braddock, who, while pondering his future after his graduation, has an affair with the older Mrs. Robinson, the wife of his father's business partner, before falling in love with their daughter, Elaine. The novella was adapted into the highly successful iconic 1967 Oscar-winning film of the same name, directed by Mike Nichols, with Dustin Hoffman in the title role and Anne Bancroft as Mrs. Robinson. Webb has stated he never felt comfortable with the attention the film brought him because he felt it distracted from his status as a serious artist. He did not receive any royalties from the film and has stated he is glad it happened that way. ''The Graduate'' is a 1968 album of songs and music from the soundtrack of Mike Nichols' movie ''The Graduate''. It includes five songs from the folk-rock duo Simon & Garfunkel, including "Mrs. Robinson", a work in progress which Simon adapted to fit the movie, along with several instrumental pieces by Dave Grusin. Released January 21 on Columbia Masterworks, the album was produced by Teo Macero. In March of the following year, Simon and Grusin won the 1968 Grammy Award for " Best Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or Television Special". "Mrs Robinson" received the Grammy for "Record of the Year", whilst Simon & Garfunkel collected the "Best Contemporary-pop Performance, Vocal Duo or Group" award. ''Commitment'' (; lit. "Alumnus" or "The Graduate") is a 2013 South Korean action drama film starring Choi Seung-hyun, Han Ye-ri, Yoon Je-moon, Jo Sung-ha and Kim Yoo-jung. ''The Graduate'' is the fourth full-length studio album by American musician MC Lars. It was released on March 21, 2006 through Horris/Nettwerk Records. Production was mostly handled by Mike Sapone, as well as Christopher Rojas, Ill Bill, Oli Horton, Q-Unique, Steve Dawson and The Rondo Brothers. It features guest appearances from A Scholar And A Physician, Ill Bill, Jaret Reddick, MC Chris, Piney Gir and The Matches. The album spawned three singles: "Signing Emo", " Download This Song" and "Ahab". "Download This Song" made it to number 29 on the Australian singles chart. ''The Graduate'' is the third studio album by London-born singer-songwriter Nerina Pallot, which was released in the United Kingdom on 5 October 2009. The album title refers to Pallot's 2009 graduation from university with a first-class honours English Literature degree. Background and production The album was released more than three years after the gold-selling '' Fires'' and marks a change in the musical genre for Pallot. The Graduate was an American indie/emo band from Springfield, Illinois. History The Graduate formed in central Illinois in November 2005, after the breakup of two other local bands (Best of Winter from Quincy, Illinois and Jack from Springfield, Illinois) whose members began playing shows together. Lead singer Corey Warning said of the band's name, "None of us graduated from college. Well, we all graduated from high school, but none of us from college, so the name's kind of ironic." The band independently released an EP entitled ''Horror Show'' in April 2006, and toured nationally with bands such as Jack's Mannequin, The Audition, The Junior Varsity, Punchline, Waking Ashland, and Secondhand Serenade.
