The Genie From Down Under
''The Genie from Down Under'' is a British-Australian children's comedy television series. It was a co-production between the ACTF, the BBC and the ABC (Australian TV channel), ABC from 1996 to 1998. ''The Genie from Down Under'' is based on an idea from Steve J. Spears which was developed into a series concept with a Round the Twist, 'Round The Twist' flavour.Australian Children's Television Foundation, (1994). Patricia May Edgar AM is an Australian author, television producer, educator and media scholar, best known as the founding director of the Australian Children's Television Foundation. Early life and education Edgar was born in Mildura, Victoria, and moved to California in the 1960s with her husband, author and social researcher Don Edgar) and their two children to study for an MA in Communication at Stanford University. On their return to Australia, Edgar joined the staff of La Trobe University as the inaugural Head of the Centre for the Study of Media and Communication. Stephen Maxwell Johnson is an Australian filmmaker, best known for his films '' Yolngu Boy'' (2001) and ''High Ground'' (2020). He is also known for directing Yothu Yindi's music videos in the late 1980s to early 1990s. Early life and education Johnson was born in England. His parents were teachers, who worked in several places around the world. He grew up in the Bahamas, Africa and the Northern Territory (NT) of Australia. Alex Menglet, born ''Alexei Menglet'' in Moscow, USSR, is an actor who has found success working in Australia. Early life Menglet was born in Moscow, USSR to parents Maya Menglet and Leonid Satanovskiy. He came from a theatrical family. Cornelius Delaney, formerly known as Nique Needles, is an Australian artist, musician and actor.
