The Dragon From Russia
''The Dragon from Russia'' is a 1990 Hong Kong martial arts action film directed by Clarence Fok and based on the Japanese manga ''Crying Freeman'' and written by Kazuo Koike and Ryoichi Ikegami, and also produced by Dean Shek, and starring Sam Hui, Maggie Cheung, Nina Li Chi, Carrie Ng, Loletta Lee and guest starring Shek in his second-to-last film appearance before retiring from acting in two years later. Plot Yao Lung and May Yip are orphans who live in Russia with their adoptive family. Through the years, the two fall in love and promise that they will be together forever. Clarence Fok
Clarence Fok Yiu-leung (; 1960 – 1 February 2024) was a Hong Kong film director and actor. He was perhaps best known for directing the international cult classic '' Naked Killer'' (1992). Life and career Fok was born in 1960 in Hong Kong. He graduated from the Department of Design at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received training as a production assistant at Rediffusion Television in 1978, gaining television production credits on ''In Cold Blood'' (1980). The following year, he joined TVB, where he helped write and direct several series including '' The Passenger'' (1979), '' The Bund'' (1980), and '' Five Easy Pieces'' (1980). Ann Mui
Ann Mui Oi-fong (梅愛芳) (10 December 1959 – 16 April 2000) was a Hong Kong singer and actress. Career Born on 10 December 1959 in China, Mui experienced much hardship in her childhood. Her father died when she was very young and her mother, Tam Mei-kam, raised four children alone. Like her sister Anita, Ann had a dramatic contralto singing voice, which is a rarity in Chinese pop music. Despite not being twins, both Ann and Anita's singing voices were strikingly similar, with the only way to tell them apart was the hand in which they hold the microphone. She is best remembered for her supporting roles in many movies, especially Jackie Chan's ''Police Story 2''. Ann Mui died of cervical cancer in 2000, as would Anita three years later.
