"The Beginning" is the seventh single released by Japanese rock band One Ok Rock. The title track was used as the theme song for the Rurouni Kenshin (film), live-action movie of ''Rurouni Kenshin''. The first pressing comes with a sticker. It received a List of music recording certifications#Singles, digital download single certification of Gold from the Recording Industry Association of Japan for sales of 100,000. It peaked at #2 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Japan Hot 100 and stayed for 45 weeks. The song also reached 5th place on the Oricon chart and charted for 20 weeks. Tomoya Kanki
, better known mononymously as Tomoya, is a Japanese musician and drummer of the band One Ok Rock. Life and career Tomoya is the eldest member of ONE OK ROCK. In junior high school, he belonged to the percussion group in a brass band club, playing various percussion instruments such as tambourine and xylophone. He formed a band in the fall of his first year in high school, and started the band in earnest. After graduated from high school, he came to Tokyo and studied at a technical college. Tomoya attended ESP Musical Academy where one of his lecturers who was in a band introduced him to a band they had played with earlier that was looking for a drummer. Ryota Kohama
, better known by his stage name Ryota, is a Japanese musician who is best known for being the bassist of the rock band One Ok Rock. He was in the hip-hop dance group Heads along with Toru Yamashita (guitarist of One Ok Rock) before they disbanded in 2002. Kohama is the brother-in-law of Canadian singer Avril Lavigne. He married her younger sister Michelle Lavigne, and they have a daughter together. Early life and career Kohama was born in Osaka before moving to Tokyo.
