Tees, East And North Yorkshire Ambulance Service
Tees, East and North Yorkshire Ambulance Service (TENYAS) was the NHS ambulance service covering the urban areas of Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, York and Hull along with the rural areas of the Yorkshire Dales and Yorkshire Wolds. In total the organisation provided ambulance cover for an area of the size of approximately . The service was formed on 1 April 1999, as a merger of the former Cleveland, North Yorkshire and the northern half of Humberside Ambulance Services and had 37 ambulance stations within its operating area with the southern half of Humberside Ambulance Service being absorbed by Lincolnshire Ambulance Service. Resources were deployed from the two control rooms situated in Middlesbrough and at ambulance headquarters in Skelton, York known as 'Fairfields'. Skelton, York
Skelton is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of the City of York, in North Yorkshire, England. It is north-north-west of the city of York, west of Haxby, and on the east bank of the River Ouse, Yorkshire, River Ouse. Skelton was in the ancient royal Forest of Galtres and covers . Skelton was made a conservation area in 1973. The village name probably began as the Anglo-Saxon 'Shelfton'—'the settlement on high ground'—becoming the present 'Skelton' under the invading Danes. Stockton-on-Tees
Stockton-on-Tees is a market town in County Durham, England, with a population of 84,815 at the 2021 UK census. It gives its name to and is the largest settlement in the wider Borough of Stockton-on-Tees. It is part of Teesside and the Tees Valley, on the northern bank of the River Tees. The River Tees was straightened in the early 19th century, so that larger ships could access the town. The ports have since relocated closer to the North Sea, and ships are no longer able to sail from the sea to the town.
