Tapumanaia Galu Satele Jr. is an American politician, educator, and government administrator who served as a member of the American Samoa House of Representatives from 2008 to 2012. After leaving the American Samoa Fono, Satele has served in several cabinet positions in the Government of American Samoa. Early life and education Satele was born and raised in Utulei, American Samoa. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in general studies from Eastern Oregon University and Master of Education from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Career After earning his master's degree, Satele worked as an admissions advisor for Remington College. He also worked as an academic representative for Remington College American Samoa. 2020 American Samoa Gubernatorial Election
The 2020 American Samoa gubernatorial election was held on November 3, 2020, coinciding with the 2020 United States presidential elections and other United States elections. Incumbent Governor of American Samoa Lolo Matalasi Moliga was not eligible for reelection due to term limits. The ''Samoa News'' is a newspaper published in Pago Pago, American Samoa. In 1981, Samoa News was the major newspaper distributed in both of the Samoas. In January 1985, Lewis Wolman became editor of Samoa News. The Samoa News Ltd. was established in 1986, with Fuga Teleso as the majority shareholder. Wolman purchased Teleso's shares on November 18, 1986, and became the publisher-editor for Samoa News. It began printing on a web press in December 1989, allowing for an increase in paper size. In January 1990, it became the first daily newspaper in America Samoa, printed at its new facilities in the downtown Pago Pago location in Fagatogo. Fuga Tolani Teleso was chairman of the board.
