Tangshan Science And Technology Museum
Tangshan ( zh, c=唐山 , p=Tángshān) is a coastal, industrial prefecture-level city in the northeast of Hebei province. It is located in the eastern part of Hebei Province and the northeastern part of the North China Plain. It is located in the central area of the Bohai Rim and serves as the main traffic corridor to the Northeast. The city faces the Bohai Sea in the south, the Yan Mountains in the north, Qinhuangdao across the Luan River to the east, and Tianjin to the west. Much of the city's development is thanks to the industrialization, beginning in 1870, when Kailuan Group established coal mines in the region. It is the birthplace of China's first standard-gauge railway, the first railway plant, the first steam locomotive, and the first cement factory. Luanzhou (), formerly Luan County (), is a county-level city in the east of Hebei province, China. It is under the administration of Tangshan city. The city spans an area of about , and, as of 2024, has a population of 518,900. The city's economy is largely industrial, and it is home to large deposits of iron ore. Kailuan Group
The Kailuan (Group) Co., Ltd. () is a major Chinese coal mining company. The Chinese Engineering and Mining Company was its predecessor. In 2009, Kailuan Group planned to build a coal reserve base on the northeast coast to store 50 million tonnes of the fossil fuel. As one of the world's largest coal consumers and producers, it has set up four to six coal reserve bases, each with a storage capacity of more than 20 million tonnes, in eastern Shandong province to help cope with future supply shocks. The base planned by Kailuan would be located in the Caofeidian area of Hebei province and would cost an estimated 2 billion yuan ($294 million). No timeframe has been provided. Luan River
The Luan River ( zh, c=滦河, p=Luánhé, formerly known as ''Lei Shui'', or ''Ru Shui'') is a river in China.
