Tampere Light Rail
The Tampere light rail (), branded as Tampere Tram (), is a public transport system in Tampere, Finland. In November 2016, the Tampere city council approved plans to construct a 330-million-euro light rail system on the route from the Keskusta, Tampere, city centre to Hervanta and to the Tampere University Hospital. Traffic on the first two lines of the route (lines 1 and 3) began on 9 August 2021. An extension from the city centre to Lentävänniemi, passing through an artificial island called ''Näsisaari'' ("Näsi Island") that serves the structure of light rail, opened in two parts in 2023 and 2025. Unlike Turku, another Finnish city that is planning a new light rail system (see Turku light rail), Tampere had not had a previously existing tram or light rail system. Hämeenkatu
Hämeenkatu is the main street of Tampere, Finland, located in the Keskusta, Tampere, city center. The boulevard is roughly a kilometre long, and wide (driveway and sidewalk) at its widest point. Hämeenkatu is a boulevard, which begins from the east at the Tampere railway station, continues westward to the Hämeenpuisto park, and is covered with cobble stones for its entire length. The street also contains the Hämeensilta bridge crossing the Tammerkoski rapids with gorgeous views on both sides. The bridge that Hämeenkatu runs across Tammerkoski is decorated with four human statues, one at each corner of the bridge. Of these statues, three represent men and one represents a woman. Eastwards from the railway station, Hämeenkatu is followed by the -long Itsenäisyydenkatu, which then diverges into Sammonkatu and Teiskontie. Vyborg
Vyborg (; , ; , ; , ) is a town and the administrative center of Vyborgsky District in Leningrad Oblast, Russia. It lies on the Karelian Isthmus near the head of Vyborg Bay, northwest of St. Petersburg, east of the Finnish capital Helsinki, and south of Russia's border with Finland, where the Saimaa Canal enters the Gulf of Finland. Koskipuisto
Koskipuisto ( Finnish for "rapids park") is a park in Kyttälä, Tampere, Finland, to the east of the Tammerkoski rapids. Hakametsä
Hakametsä is a smaller district of Tampere, Finland, located about four kilometers from its city center. The neighboring parts of Hakametsä are Huikas, Ristinarkku, Messukylä, Vuohenoja, Kalevanrinne, Kaleva, Kissanmaa and Uusikylä. Hakametsä was once the pasture of the Messukylä's parsonage, and it was settled in the late 19th century. Pyynikki () is a district and a nature reserve in Tampere, Finland. It is located in the Pyynikinharju ridge, between the city center and the western district of Pispala. Sorin Aukio
The Sori Square () is a square located in the center of Tampere, Finland, in the southern part of the Kyttälä district. It is located in the area bounded by the Hatanpää Highway, Suvantokatu, Tuomiokirkonkatu and Vuolteenkatu. At the eastern end of the square is the Tampere Orthodox Church from 1898. There is a terminus at Tampere Tram Line 1 on the west side. The square was built in the 1980s, and its artistic composition was by sculptor Harry Kivijärvi. In the square is his 10-meter sculpture called ''Pirkka''. Kivijärvi has also designed the area's lamps, benches and trash bins, as well as a mosaic-decorated water basin in the northern corner of the square. The work was completed in the autumn of 1987. The name of Sori Square was marked in the town plan in 1985. Hervantajärvi (district)
Hervantajärvi is the southernmost district of the Tampere city in Pirkanmaa, Finland, located about eight kilometers southeast of the Keskusta, Tampere, city center. It is bordered on the west by Vuores and on the north by Ruskontie, on the north by Hervanta and Rusko, Tampere, Rusko. In the east the border is between Kangasala and in the south against Lempäälä. The district is named after Lake Hervanta in the area, which is partly on the Lempäälä side. The Hervantajärvi area is mainly home to holiday homes and a beach, but multi-storey and detached houses are under construction for about 3,000 inhabitants. Niihama (district)
Niihama is a neighbourhood in the northeast part of the city of Tampere, Finland. The area is mostly wooded and mainly for outdoor use. There are cross-country ski runs in winter, and there is also a water sports center and Niihama Allotment Garden. Niihama is bordered on the west by Kauppi, on the north by Lake Näsijärvi, on the south by Teiskontie and on the east by Highway 9. Kauppi (district)
Kauppi is an eastern part of the city of Tampere, Finland. It is part of larger Sampo district. The area is mostly forested and there are ' that are cross-country ski trails in winter. The Kauppi Sports Center has a sports stadium, a greyhound track, a ski lodge, a baseball field and football pitches.
