Summit League Women's Basketball Tournament
The Summit League women's basketball tournament has existed since 1993. The winner of the tournament receives the Summit League's automatic bid into the NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Championship. The Summit League was known as the Association of Mid-Continent Universities (AMCU) from 1982–1989 and Mid-Continent Conference from 1989–2007. A summit is a point on a surface that is higher in elevation than all points immediately adjacent to it. The topographic terms acme, apex, peak (mountain peak), and zenith are synonymous. The term (mountain top) is generally used only for a mountain peak that is located at some distance from the nearest point of higher elevation. For example, a big, massive rock next to the main summit of a mountain is not considered a summit. Summits near a higher peak, with some prominence or isolation, but not reaching a certain cutoff value for the quantities, are often considered ''subsummits'' (or ''subpeaks'') of the higher peak, and are considered part of the same mountain. A pyramidal peak is an exaggerated form produced by ice erosion of a mountain top. Summit may also refer to the highest point along a line, trail, or route. The Oakland Golden Grizzlies are the women's basketball team that represent Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, United States. The 2017–18 South Dakota State Jackrabbits women's basketball represent South Dakota State University in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. Nicole Seekamp
Nicole Seekamp (born 26 April 1992) is an Australian professional basketball player. College Seekamp played college basketball at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota for the Coyotes. After sitting out the 2011–12 season as a redshirt, Seekamp made her debut in 2012. Seekamp was the 2015–16 Summit League Player of the Year and led the Coyotes to a championship in the Women's National Invitation Tournament. She was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2016 WNIT. The Denver Pioneers women's basketball team represents the University of Denver and competes in the NCAA Division I women's college basketball in Denver, Colorado. History Denver began play in 1974, after a few years playing as a club sport. They played in the Intermountain Conference from 1974-1978, the Continental Divide/Colorado Athletic from 1978-1996, and the Rocky Mountain from 1996-98 before joining Division I play in 1998. The 2014 Summit League women's basketball tournament was the 2014 post-season tournament for The Summit League, an NCAA Division I athletic conference. The tournament took place March 8–11, 2014, at the Sioux Falls Arena in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This is the last season only 7 teams will participate.
