Stranded (album)
''Stranded'' is the third album by English rock band Roxy Music, released in 1973 by Island Records (it was released by Atco Records in the United States). ''Stranded'' was the first Roxy Music album on which Bryan Ferry was not the sole songwriter, with multi-instrumentalist Andy Mackay and guitarist Phil Manzanera also making songwriting contributions. It is also their first album with keyboardist/violinist Eddie Jobson, who replaced Brian Eno after his departure following the release of their previous album '' For Your Pleasure''. It was also the first of three consecutive studio albums with session bassist John Gustafson (Gustafson also appears on one track on the live album '' Viva!'', from a time when he toured with the band in 1975). Blue October (British Band)
Blue October is an English synthpop/pop/dance band based in Essex, formed in 1996 by Glen Wisbey and Barney Miller. Their first album, '' Incoming'', was released in 1998, on the US record label A Different Drum. Tragedy struck as Miller unexpectedly died soon afterwards. In 2001 a second album, ''Preaching Lies to the Righteous'', was released with Ross Carter replacing Miller as vocalist. A third album, '' One Day Silver, One Day Gold'', was released in 2005 as a third member, Chris Taubert, joined the band. 2008 saw the release of their fourth album, '' Walk Amongst the Living''. Produced by Steve Travell. In 2010 Carter left the band, who have since recruited Chris Beecham as replacement. June 2010 saw the band start work on their, as yet, untitled fifth studio album. ''Stranded'' is a 1916 American silent drama film produced by Fine Arts Film Company and distributed by Triangle Film Corporation. The film stars DeWolf Hopper with newcomer Bessie Love in a supporting role. The film is considered lost. Plot H. Ulysses Watts (Hopper) is a traveling Shakespearean actor whose career is on the decline, as his audiences are more interested in cinema and vaudeville. When the troupe is robbed by Stoner ( Stockdale), Watts cares for an injured young trapeze artist (Love), and pretends to be her father so that he can protect her. While healing in the village, the girl falls in love with a hotel manager, and they plan to marry. However, Stoner returns and threatens to reveal her true career and that she and Watts are not related. Instead, Watts tells all of this to the hotel manager, who is still in love with the girl and wants to marry her. "The Stranded" is the 27th episode of the sitcom '' Seinfeld''. It is the tenth episode of the show's third season. It first aired on November 27, 1991. The episode was originally produced for Season 2 but was postponed because Larry David was dissatisfied with the episode; it was therefore advertised as a "lost" episode. ''Stranded with Cash Peters'' is a reality show/ documentary on the Travel Channel created by British travel writer Cash Peters, in which he was dumped in an unfamiliar place with no money, food, or room for the night. He had to rely on the locals to show him around town, buy food for him, and give him a place to stay for the night. Each time-slot consisted of two 22-minute-long episodes. It first aired on June 6, 2005, but was canceled after two seasons. Peters wrote about his experiences making the program in a 2009 book entitled ''Naked in Dangerous Places''. William Hickey (actor)
William Edward Hickey (September 19, 1927 – June 29, 1997) was an American actor. He is best known for his Academy Award-nominated role as Don Corrado Prizzi in the John Huston film ''Prizzi's Honor'' (1985), as well as Uncle Lewis in ''National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation'' (1989) and the voice of Dr. Finklestein in Tim Burton's ''The Nightmare Before Christmas'' (1993).
