''State of the Union'', branded as ''State of the Union with Jake Tapper and Dana Bash'', is an American Sunday talk show and political discussion television program on CNN and broadcast around the world by CNN International. It has been co-anchored by Jake Tapper since 2015 and Dana Bash since 2021. It has been broadcast since its debut in January 2009. The program is broadcast from 9:00am to 10:00am ET, with a replay at noon to 1:00pm ET from CNN's studios in Washington D.C. History The program premiered on January 18, 2009, originally with John King as host, and aired from 9:00am to 1:00pm ET (though only the 9:00am and noon ET hours are simulcast on CNN International) and from 8:00pm to 9:00pm ET. It features news analysis and interviews with politicians, reporters, and newsmakers, as well as the " Magic Wall", an interactive touch screen map previously used by King to cover the 2008 presidential election. ''Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer'' is a Sunday talk show hosted by Wolf Blitzer on CNN and broadcast around the world by CNN International. The show's slogan was ''The last word in Sunday talk'' and comments made on the show were often featured in the following Monday's news headlines. The show, launched on October 3, 1993, was moderated by Frank Sesno until January 11, 1998, and by Wolf Blitzer from January 18, 1998 to January 11, 2009. The program aired at 11:00 AM ET and thus was the last of the Sunday talk shows to air in most East Coast markets, hence the name "Late Edition." (It was, however, the first to air on the West Coast, at 8:00 AM PT, since its other broadcast network competitors, including Fox News Sunday, aired on same-day tape delay on the West Coast at various times). The program initially aired on CNN from its launch under the title ''Moneyline'', as its main financial news program. Candy Alt Crowley (born December 26, 1948) is an American news anchor who was employed as CNN's chief political correspondent, specializing in American national and state elections. She was based in CNN's Washington, D.C. bureau and was the anchor of their Sunday morning talk show ''State of the Union with Candy Crowley''. She has covered elections for over two decades. Early life and education Crowley was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where her family had moved briefly from St. Louis, Missouri. Dana Ruth Bash (born June 15, 1971; née Schwartz) is an American journalist, news anchor, and chief political correspondent for CNN. Early life and education Bash was born Dana Ruth Schwartz in Manhattan, New York City, into a family of Jews, to Frances (née Weinman) Schwartz, an author and educator in Jewish studies, and Stuart Schwartz, an ABC News producer who served as the senior broadcast producer for '' Good Morning America''.
