State And Regional Hluttaws
Myanmar ( also known as ''Burma'') is divided into twenty-one administrative subdivisions, which include seven states (; ''pyi ne'', ), seven regions (; ''taing detha gyi'', ), five self-administered zones and one self-administered division (Wa Self-Administered Division). The regions were called divisions prior to August 2010. Each State and Region has a State Hluttaw or Regional Hluttaw made up of elected civilian members and unelected representatives of the Armed Forces. The Constitution of Myanmar grants the Myanmar Armed Forces' Commander-in-Chief the right to appoint military officials to one-third of parliamentary seats, while the remaining two-thirds of seats are elected. Magway Region Hluttaw
Magway Region Hluttaw ( my, မကွေးတိုင်းဒေသကြီးလွှတ်တော်) is the legislature of the Burmese region of Magway Region. It is a unicameral body, consisting of 68 members, including 51 elected members and 17 military representatives. As of February 2016, the Hluttaw was led by speaker Tar of the National League for Democracy (NLD). Khat Aung
Khet Aung ( my, ခက်အောင်; born 1946) is a Burmese politician. He has served as Chief Minister of Kachin State, the head of the Kachin State Government, since March 2016. An ethnic Kachin, he worked as a dentist before entering politics. Political career Khet Aung was not a member of any political party prior to the 2015 Myanmar general election, but became an NLD member in 2015. He ran for Kachin State Hluttaw in the November 2015 election, winning a seat in Myitkyina. In the wake of the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état on 1 February, Khet Aung was detained by the Myanmar Armed Forces. Personal life Salai is an ethnic Kachin and practicing Baptist. Mindat Township
Mindat Township ( my, မင်းတပ်မြို့နယ်) is a township located in Mindat District in the Chin State of Myanmar. The township is located between latitude 21.19 and 21.47, longitude 93.23 and 94.29. The third highest peak in Myanmar, Nat Ma Taung (Mt. Victoria) at , is visible from here, though it is within Kanpetlet township boundary. Mindat was a part of Pakokku Hill Tracts District. Falam Township
Falam Township ( my, ဖလမ်းမြို့နယ်) is a township of Falam District in the Chin State of Burma (Myanmar). Its administrative seat is the town of Falam. The population, as of 2014, is 41,457 (male:20,350; female: 21,107). Out of this population, 9,092 live in Falam town (urban population) and 32,365 live in rural areas. Falam Township is mountainous, running east–west from the foothills above the Neyinzaya and Myittha rivers to the high peaks of the Chin Hills in the Arakan Mountain Range and down to the border with Mizoram State, India. The highest peak in the township, Mount Zinghmuh is also the second highest mountain peak in Chin State. The Manipur (Manipuya) River runs south through the center of the township. National League For Democracy
The National League for Democracy ( my, အမျိုးသား ဒီမိုကရေစီ အဖွဲ့ချုပ်, ; abbr. NLD; Burmese abbr. ဒီချုပ်) is a liberal democratic political party in Myanmar (Burma). It became the country's ruling party after a landslide victory in the 2015 general election but was overthrown in a military coup d'état in early 2021 following another landslide election victory in 2020. Founded on 27 September 1988, it has become one of the most influential parties in Myanmar's pro-democracy movement. Salai Lian Luai ( my, ဆလိုင်းလျန်လွယ်), a lawyer turned politician and currently serving as Chief Minister of Chin State, the head of Chin State Government. Chin State
Chin State (, ) is a state in western Myanmar. The Chin State is bordered by Sagaing Division and Magway Division to the east, Rakhine State to the south, Bangladesh to the south-west, and the Indian states of Mizoram to the west and Manipur to the north. The population of Chin state is about 478,801 in 2014 census. The capital of the state is Hakha. The state is a mountainous region with few transportation links. Chin State is sparsely populated and remains one of the least developed areas of the country. Yangon Region Hluttaw ( my, ရန်ကုန်တိုင်းဒေသကြီးလွှတ်တော်) is the legislature of the Burmese region of Yangon Region. It is a unicameral body, consisting of 123 members, including 92 elected members and 31 military representatives. As of February 2016, the Hluttaw was led by speaker Tin Maung Tun of the National League for Democracy (NLD). The regional legislature convenes at the Yangon Region Hluttaw building on Pyay Road in Dagon Township. The building formerly housed the national parliament. In 2013, the Yangon Region Hluttaw adopted the 2013 Yangon City Municipal Law, which holds the Yangon City Development Committee and the Yangon city mayor accountable to the legislature, including its budgetary power.
