''Seven Year Setlist'' is a compilation album by the View, released on 17 June 2013. It charted at No. 7 in the Scottish Albums chart and #59 in the UK Albums Chart. Description The compilation is titled "Seven Year Setlist" because it comprises songs frequently performed in the band's concerts, with the exception of the new tracks. The songs are arranged in a similar order to the band's setlists. The compilation features several of the band's singles mixed with a couple of album tracks which feature heavily in the band's usual setlist. The album also includes 3 brand new unheard tracks - "Kill Kyle", "Dirty Magazine", and "Standard". These new songs have been produced by Ex-Oasis producer Owen Morris. The View (band)
The View are a Scottish indie rock band that formed in Dundee in 2005. They incorporate various styles such as punk rock, punk, pop music, pop, alternative rock, and folk rock, folk in their music. They are best known for their 2007 single "Same Jeans" which reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart. ''Hats Off to the Buskers'' is the debut album by Scottish band The View (band), The View. It was released on 22 January 2007 on 1965 Records. It was reported on the band's official forum that the album had leaked to various internet sites in mid December 2006. The album entered the UK Albums Chart at 1 on 28 January 2007. The album charted at No. 45 on the UK end-of-year album chart, after selling around 319,000 copies in 2007. The album has been certified platinum. It was nominated for the 2007 Mercury Prize. "Shock Horror" is the second single released by Scottish band The View (band), The View, from their second album ''Which Bitch?''. The B-side on the CD release is "My Mother". The song was available in MP3 format from 5 December 2008, when the 7" was pre-ordered from the band's official website. The video for the song was released in December 2008. "Superstar Tradesman" is the second single by Dundee band The View with the B-Side being " Up The Junction (Zane Lowe Sessions)". It was Radio 1's Edith Bowman's record of the week commencing 4 September 2006 and entered the Radio 1 daytime playlist on 6 September 2006. The single entered the MTV/NME video chart at Number 2 on 24 September 2006. On 8 October 2006, Superstar Tradesman topped the MTV/NME video chart. After charting the previous week on downloads at #60, It entered the UK top 40 at #15 on 29 October 2006, and in the week of release the band gave an interview to STV to discuss the song and their thoughts on the forthcoming album. "Same Jeans" is the third single by Dundee band the View, appearing on their debut album, ''Hats Off to the Buskers'' (2007). It was Radio 1's Jo Whiley's record of the week commencing 27 November 2006 and was released on 15 January 2007. It followed the singles "Wasted Little DJs" and " Superstar Tradesman" and was the third and final release before the album on 22 January 2007. The song received significantly more airplay than the previous singles, and it was the first single by the band to enter the BBC Radio 2 playlist as well as the first single to be A-listed by BBC Radio 1. It entered the UK Singles Chart at number 11 on downloads alone before rising to number three the following week.
