St Peter's, Eastern Hill
St Peter's, Eastern Hill is the Anglican parish church of the City of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The parish is in the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne and dates from 1847. The letters patent of Queen Victoria declaring the city status of Melbourne were read on the steps of St Peter's in 1848. The parish is well known as belonging to the Anglo-Catholic tradition. St Peter's central position in Melbourne means it is able to extend a number of ministries from the parish including a hospital chaplain, university chaplain and parliamentary chaplain. The church is also the location of a breakfast program for Melbourne's inner-city homeless. The Church and Monastery of St Peter ( mt, Il-knisja u Monasteru ta' San Pietru) is a Catholic Benedictine monastery for Cloistered nuns located in the medieval city of Mdina, Malta. The adjacent church is dedicated to St Peter and St Benedict. History It is not known when the monastery was founded however it is known that the first nuns in Malta arrived in the early 15th century. Thus the monastery of St Peter was established sometime around 1418. In 1555 Bishop Cubelles of Malta mentions that the chapel of the monastery was endowed with gold and silver and all the necessarily objects required for worship. San Pedro El Real, Madrid
The Church of San Pedro el Real (''St Peter the Royal''), also known as San Pedro el Viejo is a small medieval church in central Madrid, Spain. The initial structure was built in the 14th century, but extensive renovations were performed, and a new facade and portals added in the 17th and 19th centuries. It may have begun as Benedictine monastery, although the Bell-tower has Mudéjar qualities, and resembles a minaret; however, present tower seems to have been worked on in the 14th century when Madrid was firmly in Castilian hands. It was originally built by King Alfonso XI to celebrate his victory in the Battle of Algeciras in 1344. The church contains the tombs of Kings Alfonso I of Asturias and Ramiro II of León. San Pedro also contains the statue of Jesus known as Jesús el Pobre, or Jesus the Poor, sculpted by Juan Astorga in the late eighteenth century. The Siniloan Church or Saints Peter and Paul Parish Church is the only Roman Catholic church in the municipality of Siniloan, Laguna, Philippines, under the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Pablo.
