St. John's Edge
The St. John's Edge are an inactive Canadian professional basketball team based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, and compete in the National Basketball League of Canada. From 2017 to 2020, they played home games at Mile One Centre. They were given a leave of absence from the league in 2021 due to not having a suitable home arena after not being given a new lease for Mile One Centre. History On September 18, 2017, the city of St. John's approved the team to play at Mile One Centre. The team is owned by Atlantic Sport Enterprises Ltd, then consisting of John Graham with Irwin Simon and Robert Sabbagh. On September 28, 2017, St. John's named Jeff Dunlap head coach and Doug Plumb assistant coach. National Basketball League Of Canada
The National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada; french: Ligue nationale de basketball du Canada) is a Canadian professional men's minor league basketball organization. The NBL Canada was founded in 2011, when three existing Premier Basketball League teams joined with four new franchises for the league's inaugural season. Newfoundland Growlers
The Newfoundland Growlers are a professional minor league ice hockey team in the ECHL based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. The team began play in the 2018–19 ECHL season and have home games at Mary Brown's Centre. They are members in the North Division of the Eastern Conference and are affiliated with the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League and Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. Ryan Reid (basketball)
Ryan Rupert Reid (born October 30, 1986) is an American-born Jamaican professional basketball player for the Kanazawa Samuraiz of Japanese B.League. Reid played college basketball with the Florida State Seminoles. After four years in college, he was drafted by the Indiana Pacers with the 57th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. After the draft, his draft rights were immediately traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. However, the Thunder did not sign him to a contract and Reid went on to play with in the Tulsa 66ers, the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) affiliate of the Thunder. Chadrack Lufile (born September 11, 1990) is a Congolese-Canadian professional basketball player who last played for the ABC Fighters of the Road to BAL. Internationally, he also plays for . Early life and high school career Lufile was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo but left for Texas with his family as the age of three. At the age of seven, he moved to Canada. Ronald Glen "Big Baby" Davis (born January 1, 1986) is an American former professional basketball player. He played for the Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Clippers, and the St. John’s Edge. Rashaun Eneal Broadus (born August 5, 1984) is an American-born naturalized Albanian former professional basketball player. Born in Seattle, Washington, he attended Mililani High School in Mililani, Hawaii. A tall point guard, Broadus then competed for Western Nebraska Community College before transferring to BYU, where he became a starter at the NCAA Division I level. As a professional, Broadus played his rookie season with the Romanian team CSU Brașov. Ransford Brempong (born July 22, 1981) is a former Canadian people, Canadian National Team member and professional basketball player for the Fraser Valley Bandits of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). That competed in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) and played their home games at the Field House at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
