''Spy in the Sky!'' is a 1958 American-British spy thriller film directed by W. Lee Wilder and starring Steve Brodie, Andrea Domburg and George Coulouris. The film is based on the 1954 novel ''Counterspy Express'' by Albert Sidney Fleischman.Goble p.160 It was shot at the Cinetone Studios in Amsterdam and on location in Vienna. Synopsis A German scientist who knows the secrets of the Sputnik rocket programme goes on the run from the Soviets. Albert Sidney Fleischman
Albert Sidney Fleischman (born Avron Zalmon Fleischman; March 16, 1920 – March 17, 2010) was an American people, American author of children's books, screenplays, novels for adults, and nonfiction books about stage magic (illusion), magic. His works for children are known for their humor, imagery, zesty plotting, and exploration of the byways of American history. He won the Newbery Medal in 1987 for ''The Whipping Boy'' and the Boston Globe–Horn Book Award in 1979 for ''Humbug Mountain''. For his career contribution as a children's writer he was U.S. nominee for the biennial, international Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1994. In 2003, the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators inaugurated the Sid Fleischman Humor Award in his honor, and made him the first recipient.
