Vance Heafner
Clayton Vance Heafner Jr. (August 11, 1954 – September 26, 2012) was an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour, the Nationwide Tour and the Champions Tour. Early life Heafner was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was the son of professional golfer Clayton Heafner and Mary Ellen Allen. The family moved to Cary, North Carolina where he attended Cary Elementary School and Cary High School. He attended North Carolina State University and was a three-time All-American member of the golf team. Heafner played on the 1977 Walker Cup team, winning all three of his matches to help lead the U.S. to victory, and turned professional in 1978. Career Heafner played in 266 events on the PGA Tour from 1978–1988, making the cut 157 times. Porter Cup
The Porter Cup is a 72-hole, medal-play elite amateur golf tournament held annually at the Niagara Falls Country Club in Lewiston, New York. Mike Holland (golfer)
Michael Arthur Holland (March 12, 1956 – November 29, 2021) was an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Early life and amateur career Holland was born, raised and lived in Bishopville, South Carolina. He attended the University of South Carolina and was a member of the golf team, an All-American his senior year. Professional career Holland turned professional in 1978. He had a handful of top-10 finishes in PGA Tour events. He won a share of the 1981 Walt Disney World National Team Championship with playing partner Vance Heafner. A year later he finished a solo 2nd in the Danny Thomas Memphis Classic losing by six strokes to Raymond Floyd. His best finish in a major was T29 at the 1982 PGA Championship. South Carolina Open
The South Carolina Open is the South Carolina state open golf tournament, open to both amateurs and PGA professionals. It is organized by the Carolinas section of the PGA of America, and both state opens run by the Carolinas section, the North Carolina Open and the South Carolina Open, are the only ones in the United States that prohibit non-PGA professionals from competing. It has been played annually since 1952 at a variety of courses around the state. Jeff Hawkes
Jeffrey Owen Hawkes (born 3 September 1953) is a South African professional golfer. Hawkes was born in Mthatha (then Umtata), Eastern Cape. In addition to his home in Bruma near Johannesburg, he also resides in Bracknell, Berkshire, England. Hawkes turned professional in 1974. He played on the European Tour for over twenty years, making the top one hundred on the European Tour Order of Merit every year from 1977 to 1991, with a best ranking of 34th in 1987. His sole European Tour win came at the 1991 Canon European Masters Swiss Open. He has also won three tournaments on the Southern Africa Tour, now the Sunshine Tour. Hawkes joined the European Seniors Tour in 2004, but has yet to win at that level, although his playing schedule is rather limited as he also works as a golf commentator and analyst for Sky Sports in the United Kingdom. Bill Britton
William Timothy Britton (born November 13, 1955) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour for fifteen years during the 1980s and 1990s. Britton was born and raised on Staten Island, New York, and attended Monsignor Farrell High School. He played college golf at Miami Dade College, and in 1975 he won the National Junior College Athletic Association Championship. He received an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida, where he played for coach Buster Bishop's Florida Gators men's golf team in National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) competition in 1976 and 1977.
