Sportsnet Ontario (formerly known as CTV Sportsnet Ontario and Rogers Sportsnet Ontario) is a Canadian regional sports specialty channel owned by Rogers Sports & Media serving most of all Ontario. It is one of four Sportsnet regional feeds. It is the main television channel of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, and the Toronto Blue Jays (although the latter carried nationally). SDTV
Standard-definition television (SDTV, SD, often shortened to standard definition) is a television system which uses a resolution that is not considered to be either high or enhanced definition. "Standard" refers to it being the prevailing specification for broadcast (and later, cable) television in the mid- to late-20th century, and compatible with legacy analog broadcast systems. The two common SDTV signal types are 576i, with 576 interlaced lines of resolution, derived from the European-developed PAL and SECAM systems, and 480i based on the American NTSC system. Common SDTV refresh rates are 25, 29.97 and 30 frames per second. Both systems use a 4:3 aspect ratio. Standards that support digital SDTV broadcast include DVB, ATSC, and ISDB. CKIS-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 92.5 MHz in Toronto, Ontario. Owned by Rogers Sports & Media, the station broadcasts a Top 40/CHR format branded as ''KiSS 92.5''. The station was founded on January 26, 1993 as CISS-FM under the ownership of Rawlco Communications in the " New Country" format. CISS was acquired by Rogers Communications on February 26, 1999 and was rebranded first as ''Power 92'', then ''Kiss 92.5'' as a top 40 station, but the station was renamed to ''92.5 Jack FM'' on June 4, 2003 with the call letters CJAQ-FM under a jockless format before abandoning the concept in 2006 and played classic rock music. Joe Bowen
Joe Bowen (born April 5, 1951) is a Canadian sportscaster. He is known as "The Voice of the Toronto Maple Leafs", having broadcast over 3,000 Leaf games. Early life, career, and family Bowen was born and raised in Sudbury. His father died in 1965. He attended Sudbury High School, where he was part of the Copper Cliff Redmen Northern Ontario championship hockey club in 1967. After graduating from the University of Windsor, where he developed his broadcasting chops at CJAM-FM, Bowen returned to Sudbury where he started his career in radio, covering the Ontario Hockey League's Sudbury Wolves. Career Bowen started calling games for the Leafs in 1982, after calling games for the Nova Scotia Voyageurs. Bowen's catchphrase is "Holy Mackinaw!" (also the catch phrase from the CFL's Hamilton Tiger Cats), typically used when an amazing goal is scored or a big save is made. Bob McGill
Robert Paul McGill (born April 27, 1962) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. McGill played in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1981 until 1994. Early life McGill began playing hockey when he moved to Leduc with his family in 1970. He left Leduc to play for the BCJHL’s Abbotsford Flyers in 1978. McGill joined the WHL’s Victoria Cougars from 1979 to 1981, winning the WHL championship in 1981. Playing career McGill started his NHL career with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1981–82 after he was selected 26th overall by the Leafs in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. He also played for the Chicago Black Hawks, San Jose Sharks, Detroit Red Wings, New York Islanders, and Hartford Whalers. He retired from the NHL after the 1993–94 season. Andria "Andi" Petrillo (born April 9, 1980) is a Canadian sports broadcaster. She became the first-ever female member to serve on a full-time basis with the ''Hockey Night in Canada'' studio team. Career When she was 19, Petrillo began volunteering at her local television station, Rogers Cable York Region in Ontario, Canada. She worked behind the scenes on various shows from sports, news, and politics, to entertainment. Gord Stellick (born May 26, 1957 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian sports broadcaster and former NHL executive. Stellick formerly hosted The Fan 590 Morning Show with Don Landry, and also appears on Hockey Central on Rogers Sportsnet. Currently, Stellick serves as host of the pre-game edition of "Blue And White Tonight" between 6PM-7PM on The Fan 590 during the game nights that the Toronto Maple Leafs play as well as the post-game edition of the show. Stellick is co-host of the "NHL Morning Skate" drive time show with Scott Loughlin on SiriusXM Satellite Radio's NHL Network Radio. Bill Watters
William Wayne Watters (born June 29, 1943) is a Canadian sports media personality and former Assistant General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs. College career Watters was a fullback and linebacker with the Toronto Varsity Blues football team from 1961 through 1964. He was a team co-captain and league All-Star at linebacker in both 1963 and 1964. In his final season (1964), he received the Johnny Copp Trophy as the team's Most Valuable Player. Watters also was a member of the Wrestling Blues for three seasons (1961–62, 62–63, 63–64) and practiced regularly with the Varsity Blues men's ice hockey team, although he saw limited action in league play. The Toronto Raptors are a Canadian professional basketball team based in Toronto.
