Spilt Milk (Kristina Train Album)
''Spilt Milk'' is the debut album by Kristina Train, released on October 20, 2009. Her record label at the time, Blue Note Records, had initially been interested in pairing Train with Norah Jones producer Lee Alexander, but instead she went to London in 2007 and asked Jimmy Hogarth to produce the album. Train cowrote eight songs on the album, collaborating with Hogarth, Eg White, and Ed Harcourt. Train also arranged and overdubbed strings on three tracks on ''Spilt Milk''. The extended version of the release contains the Carolyn Franklin & Jimmy Radcliffe song "If You Want Me". An album is a collection of audio recordings issued on compact disc (CD), vinyl, audio tape, or another medium such as digital distribution. James Radcliffe (November 18, 1936 – July 27, 1973) was an American soul singer, composer, arranger, conductor and record producer. Biography James Radcliffe was born in New York City. He released such singles as "My Ship is Coming In", a song composed by his writing partner Joey Brooks (later of " You Light Up My Life" fame), was later covered by The Walker Brothers as a pop music hit, and also wrote several songs featured in the children's TV show '' The Banana Splits''. Carolyn Franklin
Carolyn Ann Franklin (May 13, 1944 – April 25, 1988) was an American singer-songwriter. Besides her own musical success, Franklin was best known as the daughter of prominent Detroit preacher and civil rights activist C. L. Kristina Train (born January 17, 1982 in New York City as Kristina Beaty) is an American singer-songwriter and musician who lives in Nashville, having previously lived in London, United Kingdom. Her music blends influences from country, soul, gospel, blues, folk, and jazz. Kristina was born in New York City and raised in Savannah, Georgia, where she and her mother moved to when she was 11 years old. She is of Norwegian, Italian, and Irish heritage. ''Dark Black'' is the second album by Kristina Train, released on November 5, 2012 in the UK. Development Since her last album, Train was signed by Mercury Records, switched to dark sultry pop instead of jazz, and started working with Martin Craft, Ed Harcourt, and Simon Aldred. After releasing '' Spilt Milk'', EMI, the parent company of her label Blue Note, imploded, axing promotion staff so that Train's album was not well promoted and Blue Note dropped her. However, one musician who heard her work and was impressed was Herbie Hancock. He was looking for a vocalist to join with his band as he was touring to support '' River: The Joni Letters''.
