''Conde de Regla'' was a 112-gun three-decker ship of the line built at Havana, Havanna for the Spanish Navy in 1786 to plans by Romero Landa. One of the eight very large ships of the line of the ''Spanish ship Santa Ana, Santa Ana'' class, also known as ''los Meregildos''. ''Conde de Regla'' served in the Spanish Navy for three decades throughout the French Revolutionary Wars, French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, finally being sold at Ferrol, Galicia, Ferrol in 1815. Although she was a formidable part of the Spanish battlefleet throughout these conflicts, the only major action ''Conde de Regla'' participated in was the Battle of Cape St Vincent (1797), Battle of Cape St Vincent in 1797. The national flag of Spain ( es, Bandera de España), as it is defined in the Constitution of 1978, consists of three horizontal stripes: red, yellow and red, the yellow stripe being twice the size of each red stripe. First Rate
In the rating system of the British Royal Navy used to categorise sailing warships, a first rate was the designation for the largest ships of the line. Originating in the Jacobean era with the designation of Ships Royal capable of carrying at least 400 men, the size and establishment of first-rates evolved over the following 250 years to eventually denote ships of the line carrying at least 80 guns across three gundecks. By the end of the eighteenth century, a first-rate carried no fewer than 100 guns and more than 850 crew, and had a measurement (burthen) tonnage of some 2,000 tons. Origins The concept of a rating system for British naval vessels dates to the accession of James I of England, following which the fleet was formally divided into "great", "middling" and "lesser" craft. The Spanish Wikipedia ( es, Wikipedia en español) is a Spanish-language edition of Wikipedia, a free online encyclopedia. It has articles. Started in May 2001, it reached 100,000 articles on March 8, 2006 and 1,000,000 articles on May 16, 2013. It is the -largest Wikipedia as measured by the number of articles and has the 4th-most edits. It also ranks 12th in terms of depth among Wikipedias. History In February 2002, Larry Sanger wrote an e-mail to a mailing list stating that Bomis was considering selling advertisements on Wikipedia. Edgar Enyedy, a user on the Spanish Wikipedia, criticized the proposal. Jimmy Wales and Sanger responded by saying that they did not immediately plan to implement advertisements, but Enyedy began establishing a fork. Croisière De Bruix
The ''Croisière de Bruix'' (or Bruix' expedition of 1799) was the principal naval campaign of the year 1799 during the French Revolutionary Wars. The expedition began in April 1799 when the bulk of the French Atlantic Fleet under Vice-Admiral Étienne Eustache Bruix departed the base at Brest, evading the British Channel Fleet which was blockading the port and tricking the commander Admiral Lord Bridport into believing their true destination was Ireland. Passing southwards, the French fleet narrowly missed joining with an allied Spanish Navy squadron at Ferrol and was prevented by an easterly gale from uniting with the main Spanish fleet at Cádiz before entering the Mediterranean Sea. Pedro Romero De Terreros
Pedro Romero de Terreros (1710–1781), the first Count of Regla, was a mining magnate and philanthropist in 18th century Mexico. Early life Pedro Romero de Terreros was born in Cortegana, Spain, on June 28, 1710, the fifth (of six) child and fourth son of Ana Gómez and José Romero de Terreros.Couturier, p. 12.Couturier, p. 31. Spanish Ship Príncipe De Asturias (1794)
The ''Príncipe de Asturias'' (Prince of Asturias) was a Spanish three-deck 112-gun ship of the line, named after Ferdinand, eldest surviving son of Charles IV of Spain and heir apparent with the title Prince of Asturias. She served during the Napoleonic wars escorting convoys, and fought at different times against both the British and French navies. Her invocation name was ''Los Santos Reyes'' (the Holy Kings). Construction She was built in Havana, Cuba in 1794 as part of the ''Santa Ana'' class designed by Romero de Landa. She was the last built of the eight ships of this class and was launched on 28 January 1794. Her construction was overseen by Honorato Bouyón.
