Something (concept)
Something and anything are concepts of existence in ontology, contrasting with the concept of nothing. Both are used to describe the understanding that what exists is not nothing without needing to address the existence of everything. The philosopher, David Lewis, has pointed out that these are ''necessarily'' vague terms, asserting that "ontological assertions of common sense are correct if the quantifiers—such words as "something" and "anything"—are restricted roughly to ordinary or familiar things." The idea that "something" is the opposite of "nothing" has existed at least since it was proposed by the Neoplatonist philosopher Porphyry in the 3rd century. One of the most basic questions of both science and philosophy is: why is there something rather than nothing at all? A question that follows from this is whether it is ever actually possible for there to be nothing at all, or whether there must always be something. Grammatically, "''something'' and ''anything'' are co ...

Something For Everybody (Devo Album)
''Something for Everybody'' is the ninth studio album by American new wave band Devo. It was originally released in June 2010 (being their first studio album in two decades, since 1990's '' Smooth Noodle Maps'') on their original label Warner Bros., and was their first issued on that label since their sixth studio album '' Shout'' in 1984. The album was recorded between July 2007 and mid-2009, at Mutato Muzika, in West Hollywood, California. The album is the last Devo album to feature Bob Casale, who died in February 2014. The album cover depicts a woman the band refers to as the "Sexy Candy Dome Girl", portrayed by the Russian model and musician Natasha Romanova of the band Discrete Encounter, holding a miniature blue energy dome to her mouth. Background Though a new Devo album had been considered as far back as the band's 1996 reunion, efforts by Devo's co-founder and bass guitarist Gerald Casale to get one off the ground were repeatedly unsuccessful. Devo produced some ne ...

Condition Critical (White Noise Owl Album)
''Condition Critical'' is the debut full-length studio album by American rock band White Noise Owl. Initially due shortly after their debut EP '' Until We Meet Again'', the release saw multiple delays before receiving its final release date, November 1, 2019. The album's first single, "Something, was released over two years prior to the album release, on August 1, 2017. The second single, "Maybe It's Time", was released in October 2019. Background Four of the song's track's "Feed", "Bomber", "Are You Breathing", and "End Over End", all originate from the band's 2014 debut EP, '' Until We Meet Again''. These initial sessions were quick and fruitful; guitarist Chris Shy contacted vocalist Pete Murray shortly after Lo-Pro's third studio album's release in 2013, and the EP was released in March 2014. The songs were written over emails between Shy and Murray, and after sessions went well, Murray recruited past Lo-Pro bassist John Fahnestock as bassist, while Shy recruited Evanescence ...

Blackberry Way
"Blackberry Way" is a 1968 single by British band The Move. Written by the band's guitarist/vocalist Roy Wood and produced by Jimmy Miller, "Blackberry Way" was a bleak counterpoint to the sunny psychedelia of earlier recordings. It nevertheless became the band's most successful single, reaching number 1 on the UK Singles Chart in February 1969. The Move vocalist Carl Wayne refused to sing on the song, so Wood handled the lead vocal. Richard Tandy, who later played keyboards with Wood's next band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), played harpsichord on "Blackberry Way". Despite the success of the single, the style of psychedelia-tinged pop sat uneasily with guitarist Trevor Burton. He left the group shortly after. The B-side, "Something", was specially written for the band by David Scott-Morgan. Wood said in a 1994 interview that "Blackberry Way" is his favourite Move song of all time, commenting that it could have been performed in any era and still worked. Personnel ;The Mov ...

Conscious (Guy Sebastian Album)
''Conscious'' is the eighth studio album from Australian singer-songwriter Guy Sebastian. It was released on 3 November 2017. Reception Hayden Benfield from Renowned for Sound praised "the funky guitars and R&B beats" of "High on Me" before saying "With ''Conscious'', Sebastian has sought to move away from his tendency to do take after take in search of the perfect vocal delivery, instead seeking to make it feel “a bit more real”" adding "For an artist who has grown so steadily through his career, ''Conscious'' neither represents stagnation or a backward step for Sebastian, but nor does it represent progress. David from auspOp was complimentary saying it's "one of his best efforts in a long time, the album is a showcase of quality Australian music" praising "Set in Stone", "Vesuvius", "Chasing Lights" and "Sober" adding "Where Guy continues to shine though is on the big mid-tempo numbers." ''This War Is Ours'' is the second album by American rock band Escape the Fate. It is the first Escape the Fate album to feature former Blessthefall singer Craig Mabbitt on vocals. The album received mixed reviews from critics. It was produced by John Feldmann, and released on October 21, 2008 through Epitaph Records. The album debuted at No. 35 on the ''Billboard'' 200, selling 13,000 copies in the first week of its release. Promotion Starting on September 2, 2008, fans of Escape the Fate went to a special page on Buzznet to help unlock "the first track" off of ''This War Is Ours''. In order for a user's "page view" to be considered a contribution to the counter, the page had to remain open and active. Other sites could be used through different tabs or new windows, as long as the Buzznet page stayed open. Because this was a difficult task, fans were asked to "te ...
