Snohomish PUD
The Snohomish County Public Utility District is a public utility agency providing power to over 367,000 customers in Snohomish County and on Camano Island, Washington. It provides water service to about 23,000 customers in the northeast section of the Snohomish County. The utility is the second largest publicly owned utility in the Pacific Northwest and the 12th largest in the United States. It is the largest of 28 PUDs in the state of Washington. The PUD is the largest utility customer of the Bonneville Power Administration, a major wholesale marketer of energy in the Western United States. Jackson Hydroelectric Project
The Henry M. Jackson Hydroelectric Project, or Jackson Hydro Project, is an electric power generating project on the Sultan River operated and maintained by the Snohomish County Public Utility District in Washington, co-licensed by the city of Everett, Washington. Beginning operations in 1984, the project aims to bring clean and renewable hydropower to Snohomish county. The facility consists of a single powerhouse, two main generating units, a switch-yard, and transmission lines—all of which are directly connected to the county's local 115 kV power-transmission network. Biogas is a gaseous renewable energy source produced from raw materials such as agricultural waste, manure, municipal waste, plant material, sewage, green waste, Wastewater treatment, wastewater, and food waste. A powerful extratropical cyclone developed November 18, 2024, in the Northeast Pacific and struck the Western United States and Western Canada. The storm underwent bombogenesis, rapidly dropping its central pressure to a record-tying level of . This storm was the first of two storm systems to impact the U.S. West Coast during a 3 day period. Smokey Point, Washington
Smokey Point is a community and former census-designated place in northern Snohomish County, Washington. The area, developed as a suburban bedroom community in the late 20th century, was annexed into the nearby cities of Arlington and Marysville in the 1990s and 2000s.
