Slovenia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2005
Slovenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Stop" written by Omar Naber and Urša Vlašič. The song was performed by Omar Naber. Slovenian broadcaster Radiotelevizija Slovenija (RTV Slovenija) organised the national final ''EMA 2005'' in order to select the Slovenian entry for the 2005 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. Fourteen entries competed in the national final where the winner was selected over two rounds of public televoting. In the first round, the top three entries were selected. In the second round, "Stop" performed by Omar Naber was selected as the winner. Slovenia competed in the semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 19 May 2005. Performing during the show in position 23, "Stop" was not announced among the top 10 entries of the semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final. Omar Naber
Omar Kareem Naber (born 7 July 1981) is a Slovenian singer, songwriter and guitar player. He first represented Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kyiv with the song " Stop" and for a second time at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv with the song " On My Way", but failed to qualify to the final on both occasions. Early life Naber was born on 7 July 1981 in Ljubljana, SR Slovenia, then still part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. His father, Samir Naber originates from Jordan, and is a dentist by profession working in Ljubljana. His mother, Alenka Naber, is a Slovenian and works as a piano teacher. Career

Alya's connections to music goes far in her childhood. She started singing quite early and as a little girl she also played piano. Later on, she invited four boys to found her own quality band. One of her first performances was the radio Hit festival in 2001 with the song "Mr. Pozelenja" which brought her 2nd place. After that she made a boom on different radio music charts, especially with her next song "Igra" which had a premiere in the Slovenian Supermodel show 2002. Billysi
Billysi is a pop rock music group from Slovenia. Before September 2007 they used a longer version of the name, Billy's Private Parking. The members write and produce all of their music. Feri Lainšček (born 5 October 1959) is a Slovenian writer, poet, and screenwriter. Aleksander Kogoj is a Slovenian film director, born 1965 in Ljubljana. His interest in film making began at an early age. As a teenager he wrote a good deal, and his passions were special effects. His skills as a musician meant he could combine sound and visuals, which led to his first experimental film, 'Keketz'. His first television show was called 'Music Boutique' (Glasbeni butik).
