Slovak Republic National Basketball Team
The Slovakia men's national basketball team ( sk, Slovenské národné basketbalové mužstvo) represents Slovakia in international basketball competition. The supervising body is the Slovak Basketball Association (SBA). Slovakia is one of the newest national basketball teams in the world, having split from Czechoslovakia following the dissolution of the unified state in 1993. They joined FIBA later that year, and played in their first international match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Slovakia to date does not have much history on the international level. Although they have attempted to qualify for major tournaments such as EuroBasket and the FIBA World Cup, but have yet to reach qualification. Aramis Naglić
Aramis Naglić (born 28 August 1965) is a Croatian professional basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for Vienna of the Austrian League. His most important trophies as a player including the silver medal with the Croatia national team at the 1992 Summer Olympics, and two European Cup titles with Jugoplastika Split. Coaching career After a 22-year-long playing career, Naglić started his coaching career. He coached Goranin, Crikvenica and Kvarner 2010 before taking over Inter Bratislava which he led to the 2013 Slovak League title. In 2015, following the appointment of Velimir Perasović as the head coach of the Croatian national team, Naglić joined his staff as an assistant coach. As Croatia was eliminated in round 16 game of the 2015 EuroBasket, Perasović with his staff being fired. He also worked as the head coach of Škrljevo in the Croatian League for the one season. 2006 FIBA World Championship
The 2006 FIBA World Championship was the 15th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship for men's national teams. The tournament was hosted by Japan and held from 19 August to 3 September 2006. It was co-organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Japan Basketball Association (JABBA) and the 2006 Organising Committee. For the first time since 1986, the World Championship was contested by 24 nations, eight more than in 2002. As a result, group rounds were conducted in four cities, with the knockout rounds being hosted by Saitama City. Spain won the tournament by beating Greece 70–47 in the championship final. FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualification
The FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification is the process that a national basketball team goes through to qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup finals. Qualifiers are held within four FIBA continental zones Africa, Americas, Europe, and Asia-Oceania play in a combined Asia-Pacific region to qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup, which are organized by their respective confederations. One extra berth is allocated for the specific continental zone that hosts the event, in addition to the set berths allotted for the region. The hosts of the World Cup receive an automatic berth. The EuroBasket 2022 qualification was a basketball competition that was played from November 2017 to February 2021, to determine the 20 FIBA Europe nations who would join the automatically qualified co-hosts Czech Republic, Georgia, Italy, and Germany at the EuroBasket 2022 finals tournament. The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Europe region, began in August 2017 and concluded in February 2019. Contrary to previous years, no teams were automatically placed into the World Cup, so all FIBA Europe nations had to participate in qualification. Format FIBA Europe was allocated 12 berths at the World Cup. In total, 37 FIBA Europe teams took part in the qualification tournament.
