Singapore National Netball Team
The Singapore national netball team are the national netball team representing Singapore. The Singapore team have competed at seven World Netball Championships (1967, 1975, 1999, 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019). They have also won two Nations Cup titles (2005, 2006). In 2005, the Singaporean team won the Asian Netball Championship with a win over the Malaysian team, scoring 53–39 in the finals. As of 30 June 2019, Singapore are 26th on the INF World Rankings. They are currently coached bAnnete Pearcefrom New Zealand, and captained by Vanessa Marie Lee. Players The following twelve players represented Singapore at the 2019 Netball World Cup. Netball Singapore
Netball Singapore, founded in 1962, is the national body for netball in Singapore. In 2002, the Association was named a merit sport by the Singapore Sports Council. In 1999, Netball Singapore established the Netball Super League with six teams competing to emerge as Champion. This opens up an exchange for players from different clubs, ages and skillsets. Toh Kai Wei (born 21 August 1996) is a Singaporean netball player who represents Singapore internationally and plays in the positions of goal attack, goal shooter or wing attack. Eastbourne
Eastbourne () is a town and seaside resort in East Sussex, on the south coast of England, east of Brighton and south of London. Eastbourne is immediately east of Beachy Head, the highest chalk sea cliff in Great Britain and part of the larger Eastbourne Downland Estate. 1963 Netball World Championships
The 1963 World Netball Championships was the first edition of the INF Netball World Cup, a quadrennial international netball competition. It was held from 2 August to 14 August and in Eastbourne, England. It featured 11 teams. In a round robin style format, Australia won all of their matches and considered the inaugural title holders. Netball World Cup
The Netball World Cup is a quadrennial international netball world championship organised by the World Netball, inaugurated in 1963 World Netball Championships, 1963. Since its inception the competition has been dominated primarily by the Australia national netball team and the New Zealand national netball team, as of the 2019 Netball World Cup, 2019 event having both medaled in every one of the 15 championships – Trinidad and Tobago national netball team, Trinidad and Tobago is the only other team to have won a title (a three-way tie in the 1979 World Netball Championships, 1979 championship). Nur Aqilah Afiqah Bte Andin Agustino Saman also simply known as Nur Aqilah Andin (born 14 March 1996) is a Singaporean netball player and current vice captain of the Singapore national team who plays in the positions of goal keeper, goal defense or wing defense. She was part of the Singaporean squad at the 2019 Netball World Cup, which was also her first World Cup appearance. Vanessa Marie Lee
Vanessa Marie Lee also known as Vanessa Lee (born 24 November 1983) is a Singaporean netball player and former captain of the Singapore national team who has been in international circuit since her debut in 2002. She has played at two World Cups in 2011, 2015 and has also represented Singapore at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, 2017 Southeast Asian Games and at the Asian Netball Championships. Vanessa Lee is regarded as one of the finest netball players to have emerged from Singapore. She initially retired from international netball in 2012 after winning the 2012 Asian Netball Championships defeating Sri Lanka and made her comeback into international arena in 2016 after four years to lead the national side.
