The Simpson Medal is an individual prize awarded for Australian rules football in Western Australia. The medal has been donated by Dr Fred Simpson and family since 1945. Australian Rules Football
Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball. There are rules on how the ball can be handled; for example, players running with the ball must intermittently bounce or touch it on the ground. The 2015 WAFL season was the 131st season of the various incarnations of the West Australian Football League The West Australian Football League (WAFL) is an Australian rules football league based in Perth, Western Australia. The season began on 20 March 2015 and concluded on 27 September 2015 with the 2015 WAFL Grand Final between and at Domain Stadium. Subiaco won the match by 66 points, recording their second consecutive premiership and 13th overall.
