Sendai Girls' Pro Wrestling
, often called , is a Japanese women's professional wrestling promotion. It is based in the city of Sendai, Miyagi in the Tohoku region. History Sendai Girls' Pro Wrestling was founded in 2005 by Meiko Satomura, a female professional wrestler who achieved success in the 2000s with the women's promotion Gaea Japan, and Jinsei Shinzaki, a male professional wrestler who is also the president of Michinoku Pro Wrestling. As the only experienced wrestler on the initial roster, Satomura served as the trainer and booker in addition to her duties as a wrestler. On July 9, 2006 the new promotion held its first show in front of 2498 fans at Sendai's Sun Plaza. This show consisted of Senjo's first four wrestlers making their debuts in singles matches against four legends of ''joshi puroresu''. is the predominant style of professional wrestling that has developed in Japan. The term comes from the Japanese pronunciation of , which is shortened to puroresu. The term became popular among English-speaking fans due to Hisaharu Tanabe's activities in the online Usenet community. Growing out of origins in the traditional US style of wrestling, it has become an entity in itself. Japanese pro wrestling is distinct in its psychology and presentation of the sport. Stardom Cinderella Tournament 2021
The , was the seventh annual professional wrestling single-elimination tournament promoted by World Wonder Ring Stardom which took place beginning with April 10 and culminating on June 12 in the Ota City General Gymnasium. The tournament expanded out of the normal single night format to instead be determined over two separate dates with a limited attendance due in part to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic at the time. The tournament winner is awarded a wish that has prompted opportunities for the championship of their choice. Night 2 was postponed due to the Japanese government announcing a state of emergency for Tokyo lasting from April 25 until May 11. The rest of the tournament was rescheduled to May 14 and June 12, with the second-round and quarter-finals matches taking place on May 14. The Sendai Girls Tag Team Championship is a professional wrestling world tag team championship owned by the Sendai Girls' Pro Wrestling. The title was introduced on September 17, 2011, and the inaugural champions were crowned on October 11, 2015, when the Jumboni Sisters (Dash Chisako and Sendai Sachiko) defeated Kyoko Kimura and Takumi Iroha.
