The Mexican Secretary of Tourism ( es, Secretaría de Turismo, ''SECTUR'') is the government department in charge of the nation's tourism promotion and development. The Secretary is appointed by the President of the Republic and is a member of the federal executive cabinet. The department conducts the development policy for national tourist activity and promotes tourist development zones in conjunction with the states. The cabinet of Mexico is the Executive Cabinet ( es, Gabinete Legal) and is a part of the Executive (government), executive branch of the Mexico, Mexican government. It consists of nineteen Secretary of State (Mexico), Secretaries of State and the Legal Counsel of the Federal Executive. In addition to the legal Executive Cabinet there are other Cabinet-level administration offices that report directly to the President of Mexico, President of the Republic (''Gabinete Ampliado''). Andrés Manuel López Obrador (; born 13 November 1953), also known by his initials AMLO, is a Mexican politician who has been serving as the 65th president of Mexico since 1 December 2018.
