The School of Engineering at the University of South Wales is one of university's largest schools, and is part of the university's Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Science. The school was originally part of the University of Glamorgan, before the university's formation in 2013. It has divisions in aeronautical, mechanical, civil, electronic engineering and the built environment. The school hosts undergraduate courses from foundation years, to HND and HNC and bachelor's degrees (BSc and BEng). It also offers postgraduate taught (MSc and MEng) and research degrees, and doctoral level study. University Of South Wales
The University of South Wales ( cy, Prifysgol De Cymru) is a public university in Wales, with campuses in Cardiff, Newport and Pontypridd. It was formed on 11 April 2013 from the merger of the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport. The university is the second largest university in Wales in terms of its student numbers, and offers around 200 undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The university has three main faculties across its campuses in South Wales. History The university can trace its roots to the founding of the Newport Mechanics' Institute in 1841. Treforest
Treforest ( cy, Trefforest) is a village in the south-east of Pontypridd, in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. It is situated in the Treforest electoral ward, along with the village of Glyntaff (or Glyn-Taf). It is part of the Pontypridd Town community. Treforest runs along the west bank of the River Taff ( cy, Afon Taf), while Glyntaff runs along its east bank.
