San José De Flores (Buenos Aires Underground)
San José de Flores is a station on Line A of the Buenos Aires Underground. The station connects with Flores station on the Sarmiento Line commuter rail service. The station was opened on 27 September 2013 as part of the extension of the line from Carabobo to San Pedrito. The station is built underneath Plaza General Pueyrredón, commonly known as Plaza Flores. The plaza is adjacent to the Basílica de San José de Flores, from which the station takes its name. The Sarmiento line is a broad gauge commuter rail service in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, run by the state-owned Trenes Argentinos since 11 September 2013. The line is part of Domingo Sarmiento Railway, running trains departing from Once de Septiembre station in the Balvanera neighborhood of Buenos Aires to the cities of Moreno, Lobos, and Mercedes in Buenos Aires Province. Side Platforms
A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a railway platform, platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or bus rapid transit, transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks). Line A is the oldest line of the Buenos Aires Underground. Opened to the public on 1 December 1913, it was the first underground line in South America, the Southern Hemisphere and the Spanish-speaking world. It made Buenos Aires the 13th city in the world to have an underground transport service.
