Albert Salmi
Albert Salmi (March 11, 1928 – April 22, 1990) was an American actor of stage, film, and television. Best known for his work as a character actor, he appeared in over 150 film and television productions. Early life Salmi was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York City, the son of Finnish immigrant parents. He attended Haaren High School in Manhattan. Following a stint in the United States Army during World War II, Salmi took up acting as a career, studying method acting at the Actors Studio in Manhattan with Lee Strasberg. Career In 1955, Salmi starred as Bo Decker in the play ''Bus Stop'' on Broadway, and also performed in the touring production of the play. His performance was praised by critics, and Salmi was offered the chance to reprise the role in the film ''Bus Stop'' (1956) starring Marilyn Monroe. Jorma Salmi
Jorma Salmi (6 May 1933 – 24 May 2016) was a Finnish professional ice hockey player. He played in the SM-sarja for Ilves, HIFK (ice hockey), HIFK, and HJK Helsinki, HJK and also played in Sweden's Hockeyettan, Division 1 for AIK IF and Frölunda HC, Västra Frölunda IF. He was inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003. He was a member of the 1960 Finnish Olympic team. Samuel Salmi
Samuel Salmi (born 19 March 1951) is a Finnish prelate who was bishop of the Diocese of Oulu from 2001 to 2018. Biography Born in Muonio, Salmi graduated from the Faculty of Theology at the University of Helsinki in 1974. He was ordained to the priesthood in Oulu in 1974, after which he completed a pastoral diploma in Oulu Cathedral in 1976. He completed the upper pastoral examination in Oulu Cathedral in 1983. Salmi became a Licentiate of Theology at the University of Helsinki in 1983, where he continued his studies and completed his doctoral thesis in 1990 with his dissertation "One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism". The synod dissertation in the diocese of Oulu was born in 1984 on "The Baptism Key to the Unity of the Churches". He has been a fellow of the World Council of Churches in Geneva in 1976 and 1986. Vexi Salmi
Veikko Olavi "Vexi" Salmi (; 21 September 1942 – 8 September 2020) was a Finnish lyricist. He wrote the lyrics to numerous popular songs for several prominent artists, including Irwin Goodman, Jari Sillanpää, and Katri Helena. His career as a lyricist began in the 1960s, and continued until his death. During his prolific career, he wrote the lyrics for over 4,000 songs, more than 2,400 of which have been recorded. In addition to song lyrics, he authored several novels and one collection of poetry. Salmi's latest work also included collaborating with Ilkka Lipsanen on a 60th anniversary album, and he also acted as a judge on a television program on music lyrics, Salmi was awarded the Juha Vainio Writer's Award in 1993 for his long and successful career as a lyricist. Salmagundi (or salmagundy or sallid magundi) is a cold dish or salad made from different ingredients which may include meat, seafood, eggs, cooked vegetables, raw vegetables, fruits or pickles. In English culture, the term does not refer to a single recipe but describes the grand presentation of a large plated salad of many disparate ingredients. These can be arranged in layers or geometrical designs on a plate or mixed. The ingredients are then drizzled with a dressing. The dish includes a wide range of flavours and colours and textures on a single plate.
