St. Joseph's Academy, Dehradun (SJA) is a co-educational Indian Certificate of Secondary Education school in Dehradun, the capital of the state of Uttarakhand in India. Founded in 1934, the school is governed by the Society of the Brothers of St. Patrick (Ireland). It is located in the heart of the city of Dehradun on the main thoroughfare Rajpur Road. St. Joseph's Academy, Dehradun celebrated the bicentenary of the Patrician Society and the school's 75th anniversary in 2009. History St. Joseph's Academy was formally opened and blessed on 2 March 1934 by Rev. Fr. Antanasius. Rev. Bro. A.M. Keogh was the first principal of SJA. Saint Joseph's Academy, referred to as SJA, is a private school established in 1914 by Congregatio Immaculati Cordis Mariae (CICM) offering Kindergarten to Grade 12. History St. Joseph's School was founded in 1914 by Belgian missionaries Fr. Jose van Runenkelen and Fr. Victor Zaiel of Congregatio Immaculati Cordis Mariae (CICM) established next to the St. Joseph Parish Church (where the famous Las Piñas Bamboo Organ is housed) to foster literacy in the parish community. The school, which started as a grade school, eventually included secondary education and was renamed to St. Joseph's Academy. The school was recognized by the American colonial government of the Philippine Islands on July 27, 1916 and is its recognized legal foundation day. St. Joseph's Academy is a Roman Catholic secondary school in New Farm Loch, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland. The school is located in Kilmarnock but serves the entire local authority area of East Ayrshire Council. St. Joseph's Academy is the only Roman Catholic secondary school within East Ayrshire. The Academy of Saint Joseph, in Brentwood, New York, was a Catholic college- preparatory school for Kindergarten to Grade 12, single-sex for girls grades 9 - 12. The academy was founded in 1856, by the Sisters of Saint Joseph named after Saint Joseph. At the request of the Bishop of Brooklyn, Mother Austin Kean came from Philadelphia to Brooklyn to found what is now the Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood, New York. She was accompanied by Sister Baptista Hanson and Sister Theodosia Hegeman from Buffalo. It closed in 2009, after a 153-year history of educating the youth of Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island. It is located in Brownsville, Texas, United States, and serves junior high and high school students of the lower Rio Grande Valley and Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico.
