Saeed Ahmad Akbarabadi
Saeed Ahmad Akbarabadi (1908 – 24 May 1985) was an Indian Islamic scholar and an Urdu-language author who co-founded the Nadwatul Musannifeen. He served as the Dean of the Faculty of Theology in Aligarh Muslim University. Akbarabadi was an alumnus of Jamia Qasmia Madrasa Shahi, Darul Uloom Deoband, St. Stephen's College, Delhi and the Oriental College, Lahore. He taught at Jamia Islamia Talimuddin, Madrassa-e-Aalia, Fatehpuri, Aligarh Muslim University, University of Calicut and the McGill University. He authored books including ''Fehm-e-Quran'', ''Ghulaman-e-Islam'', ''Siddiq-e-Akbar'' and ''Musalmano Ka Urooj-o-Zawal''. His students include Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq and Mushir-ul-Haq. Shabbir Ahmad Usmani
Shabbir Ahmad Usmani (11 October 188713 December 1949) was an Islamic scholar who supported the Pakistan Movement in the 1940s. He was a religious scholar, writer, orator, politician, and expert in Tafsir and Hadith. Born in 1887 in Bijnor, Usmani was an alumnus of Darul Uloom Deoband. He was the son of Fazlur Rahman Usmani. His brother Azizur Rahman Usmani was the first Grand Mufti of Darul Uloom Deoband. His nephews include Atiqur Rahman Usmani and Shams Naved Usmani. Usmani was the first to hoist the Flag of Pakistan at Karachi on 14 August 1947, and led the funeral prayers of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He died in 1949. His major work is the ''Tafsīr-e-Usmāni'', which he co-authored with his teacher Mahmud Hasan Deobandi. Darul Uloom Waqf, Deoband
Al-Jamia Al-Islamia Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband (known as Darul Uloom Waqf) is an Islamic seminary situated in the Indian town of Deoband. It was established by scholars led by Muhammad Salim Qasmi and Anzar Shah Kashmiri in 1982 as a result of administration disputes in Darul Uloom Deoband during 1980–1982. As of 2021, Muhammad Sufyan Qasmi is its rector. History During 1980 and 1982, Darul Uloom Deoband experienced administrative disputes, which Muhammad Taqi Usmani regarded as the worst of their type. These disputes led to its bifurcation. Darul Uloom Deoband remained under the control of Madanis, led by Asad Madni, while the other faction which was led by Muhammad Salim Qasmi and Anzar Shah Kashmiri established a new madrassa called Darul Uloom Waqf in 1982. Syed Mehboob Rizwi
Syed Mehboob Rizwi (1911–1979) was an Indian Sunni Islamic scholar, author and historian, best known for ''Tarikh Darul Uloom Deoband'', his two volume Urdu work on the history of Darul Uloom Deoband. Biography Syed Mehboob Rizwi was born in 1911 in a Rizwi Sayyid family in Deoband. He studied Islamic sciences at the Madrasa Manba-ul-Ulum Gulaothi and Darul Uloom Deoband. Rizwi served different educational and research departments of the Darul Uloom Deoband from 1933 until he died. He was also office in-charge of seminary's record room. Colonial India was the part of the Indian subcontinent that was occupied by European colonial powers during the Age of Discovery. European power was exerted both by conquest and trade, especially in spices. Mushir-ul-Haq
Mushir-ul-Haq was the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir from 1987 until his murder in Srinagar in 1990. He was kidnapped, alongside his personal secretary Abdul Gani Zargar, on 6 April 1990; their bodies were found on 10 April 1990. The Jammu Kashmir Students Liberation Front claimed responsibility for his kidnapping and murder. He obtained his PhD from McGill University and later taught at Aligarh Muslim University and Jamia Millia Islamia. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq
