The medley relay Swimming at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, swimming events for the 2020 Summer Paralympics took place at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre from September 2 to September 3, 2021. A total of two events were contested. Schedule Medal summary The following is a summary of the medals awarded across all 4 × 100 metre medley relay events. Medals are also awarded to swimmers who have swum in heats. Swimmers who participated in the heats only and received medals. Results The following were the results of the finals only of each of the medley relay events in each of the classifications. Federico Bicelli
Federico Bicelli (born 5 February 1999) is an Italian Paralympic swimming, Paralympic swimmer who won a medal at 2020 Summer Paralympics. He won a silver medal at the World Para Swimming Championships and 10 medals at the IPC Swimming European Championships. Career Born in Brescia, Federico has spina bifida, which is why he approached swimming from an early age. Paralympic swimming, Swimming at the 2020 Summer Paralympics was held at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre. There were 146 events (76 male, 67 female, 3 mixed relay events) - six fewer events than the 2016 Summer Paralympics. Swimming is the second largest sport: behind athletics at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, athletics and ahead of table tennis at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, table tennis. The 2020 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They kept the 2020 name and were held from 24 August to 5 September 2021. Qualification Qualification starts from 1 October 2018 and finishes on 1 August 2021. Anastasiia Vladislavovna Gontar (; born 11 May 2001) is a Russian para swimmer. She won gold in the 2020 Summer Paralympics. Early life Anastasiia Gontar was born in Surgut. Her mother, a Master of Sports in swimming, brought her to the pool after Anastasiia tried singing and gymnastics. She started swimming at the age of five in the sports school Olimp. When she was 10 years old her parents detected a curvature of her spine, and two years later she was diagnosed with an idiopathic 2nd grade scoliosis. After several months the disease progressed to a 4th, critical grade in which she developed a hump, which she hid wearing clothes two or three sizes larger than her size. The curved spine pressed her right lung and her kidney, which led to breathing difficulties; twenty minutes walking gave her severe back pain. Morgan Stickney
Morgan Stickney (born June 16, 1997) is an American Paralympic swimmer who represented the United States at the 2020 and 2024 Summer Paralympics. She won gold medals at both the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and holds four para swimming world records. Early life and education Stickney was raised in Bedford, New Hampshire, and emerged as a top-ranked distance swimmer by age 13. Hannah Elizabeth Aspden (born June 11, 2000) is an American Paralympic swimmer. She was the youngest swimmer on Team USA to medal at either the Olympics or Paralympics in 2016. During the 2019–20 season at Queens University of Charlotte, Aspden broke two American Paralympic Short Course Meters Swimming records in both the 100-Meter Backstroke and the 100-Meter Freestyle.
