Sounds Of The Animal Kingdom
''Sounds of the Animal Kingdom'' is the third studio album by American grindcore band Brutal Truth, released on September 23, 1997. It was the band's first release on Relapse Records, and last with guitarist Brent McCarthy. Recorded with Billy Anderson, it showcased a more experimental and varied style than the band's previous albums, incorporating elements of blues, psychedelic rock, noise, southern rock and free jazz. In 2006, the album was remastered and reissued with its preceding mini album '' Kill Trend Suicide'' (1996). Background and recording Brutal Truth wrote material for ''Sounds of the Animal Kingdom'' over the course of two years between its departure from Earache Records and its signing with Relapse Records, working at their rehearsal space three times a week. Brutal Truth
Brutal Truth was an American grindcore band from New York City, formed by ex-Anthrax, Nuclear Assault, and Stormtroopers of Death bass guitarist Dan Lilker in 1990. The group disbanded in 1999, but reformed in 2006 and continued to release music until 2014. History Brutal Truth was formed in 1990 in New York City. The band was originally signed to Earache Records, on which they released two albums, '' Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses'' and '' Need to Control'', as well as an EP entitled '' Perpetual Conversion'', and 7-inch singles for the songs "Ill Neglect" and "Godplayer". Nausea (band)
Nausea was an American crust punk band from New York City, active from 1985 to 1992. They are cited as a notable band in the first wave of crust punk. Prior to Nausea, guitarist Victor Dominicis played in the hardcore punk bands Hellbent and Sacrilege. Nausea were involved in the New York City Lower East Side squatting community. Their earlier sound with singers Amy Miret and Neil Robinson was in the vein of hardcore punk. After Robinson's departure, he was replaced by Al Long and the band began to experiment with darker, heavy metal music, metal influences. Robinson went on to form the bands Jesus Crust and Final Warning, as well as start Tribal War Records. Agathocles (band)
Agathocles is a Belgian political grindcore band. Founded in 1985, it is mainly known for producing a large quantity of split seven-inch EPs. They play a style of grindcore they have dubbed "mincecore". Their lyrical themes have focused on anti-fascism, animal liberation and anarchism. All of its members are vegetarians. Their lineup has changed numerous times since they first started, the only consistent member being Jan Frederickx (also known as Jan AG). Le Sony'r Ra (born Herman Poole Blount, May 22, 1914 – May 30, 1993), better known as Sun Ra, was an American jazz composer, bandleader, piano and synthesizer player, and poet known for his experimental music, "cosmic" philosophy, prolific output, and theatrical performances. For much of his career, Ra led The Arkestra, an ensemble with an ever-changing name and flexible line-up. Born and raised in Alabama, Blount became involved in the Music of Chicago, Chicago jazz scene during the late 1940s. He soon abandoned his birth name, taking the name Le Sony'r Ra, shortened to Sun Ra (after Ra, the Egyptian god of the Sun). Molly Hatchet is an American rock band formed by guitarist Dave Hlubek in Jacksonville, Florida in 1971. They experienced popularity and commercial success during the late 1970s and early to mid-1980s amongst southern rock and hard rock communities and listeners.
