Jammu And Kashmir National Conference
The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) is a regional political party in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir (union territory), Jammu and Kashmir union territory and Ladakh. Founded as the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference by Sheikh Abdullah and Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas in 1932 in the Jammu and Kashmir (princely state), princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, the organisation renamed itself to National Conference in 1939 in order to represent all the people of the state. The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act was passed to reconstitute the state of Jammu and Kashmir (state), Jammu and Kashmir into union territories of Jammu and Kashmir (union territory), Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in 2019. In March 2020, a three-member Delimitation Commission of India, Delimitation Commission was formed, chaired by retired Justice Ranjana Desai, Ranjana Prakash Desai, for the delimitation of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The final delimitation report was released on 5 May 2022 under which additional 6 seats were added to Jammu division and 1 seat to Kashmir division, taking the total tally to 90 seats. Abdul Rashid Dar (''unknown'' – 28 February 2020) was a politician from Jammu & Kashmir. He was Member of the Legislative Assembly and served as the Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council. Political career Dar started his career with the J&K National Conference (JKNC) in 1987 when he contested the state assembly election from Shangus, Anantnag. Abdul Ahad Vakil
Abdul Ahad Vakil (February 1934 – 9 July 2014) was an Indian politician and a Member of parliament elected in the 6th Lok Sabha elections from Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla constituency. He served as the state minister in 1983 and the speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in 1996. He was the senior member of the National Conference.
