Somewhere Down The Road (album)
''Somewhere Down the Road'' is the seventeenth studio album by Christian music and pop music singer-songwriter Amy Grant, released in 2010. It is a unique album featuring eight new songs, a new recording of the song "Arms of Love", from her 1982 album ''Age to Age'', and rounded out with three of Grant's previously released story-songs. The album title is taken from the title track, "Somewhere Down the Road" also a promotional single from Grant's 1997 album '' Behind the Eyes''. The song was originally also featured on the first and only commercial single from ''Behind the Eyes'', " Takes a Little Time". The painting featured on the cover of the album includes a painting by Grant, with the inscription Somewhere Down the Road. Grant gave the original painting as a gift to her friend and publicist Jennifer Cooke. Amy Lee Grant (born November 25, 1960) is an American singer-songwriter and musician. She began her music career in contemporary Christian music (CCM) before crossing over to pop music in the mid-1980s. Grant has been referred to as "Honorific nicknames in popular music, The Queen of Christian Pop". Gary Winther Chapman (born August 19, 1957) is an American contemporary Christian music singer-songwriter and former television talk show host. Early life and music career Born in Waurika, Oklahoma, Chapman grew up in De Leon, Texas, the son of an Assemblies of God pastor, the Rev. Terry W. Chapman, who ministered for 56 years before his death in 2009. Chapman moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and was later hired as guitar player for The Rambos. "Turn! Turn! Turn!", also known as or subtitled "To Everything There Is a Season", is a song written by Pete Seeger in 1959. The lyrics – except for the title, which is repeated throughout the song, and the final two lines – consist of the first eight verses of the third chapter of the biblical Book of Ecclesiastes. The song was originally released in 1962 as "To Everything There Is a Season" on the folk group the Limeliters' album ''Folk Matinee'', and then some months later on Seeger's own ''The Bitter and the Sweet''. Peter Seeger (May 3, 1919 – January 27, 2014) was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and social activist. He was a fixture on nationwide radio in the 1940s and had a string of hit records in the early 1950s as a member of The Weavers, notably their recording of Lead Belly's "Goodnight, Irene", which topped the charts for 14 weeks in 1950. ''Behind the Eyes'' is the twelfth studio album by Christian music and pop music singer Amy Grant, released in 1997. Issued near the end of Grant's marriage to Christian singer-songwriter Gary Chapman, many of the songs on ''Behind the Eyes'' reflect Grant's struggles in her marriage and all relate to a theme of optimism. Upon its release, it went to No. 2 on ''Billboards Christian albums chart and No. 8 on the ''Billboard'' 200.
