Solstice is an English epic doom metal band from Dewsbury, founded by Rich Walker after the breakup of his previous hardcore punk / grindcore bands Sore Throat (grindcore band), Sore Throat and Warfear. Rich Walker previously ran The Miskatonic Foundation, a record label dedicated to doom metal and traditional heavy metal. History Contemporary with the Early Norwegian black metal scene, second wave of black metal that was especially active in Norway and other Scandinavian nations, Solstice released their debut album ''Lamentations (Solstice album), Lamentations'' on England's Candlelight Records in 1994. Dewsbury is a market town in the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees in West Yorkshire, England. Anathema were an English rock music, rock band from Liverpool. The group was formed in 1990 by Vincent Cavanagh, Vincent and Daniel Cavanagh, bassist Jamie Cavanagh, drummer/keyboardist John Douglas, and vocalist Darren White. The band maintained an active concert schedule throughout their career. The Lord Weird Slough Feg
Slough Feg (also known as The Lord Weird Slough Feg) is an American heavy metal band from Pennsylvania, formed in 1990 and currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Taking their name from the Celtic folklore-influenced comic book Sláine, the band released their self-titled debut album in 1996. Slough Feg combines influences from traditional heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Brocas Helm, and Thin Lizzy, as well as English folk metal band Skyclad. Slough Feg's 2003 album '' Traveller'' was a concept album based on the role-playing game of the same name. With the release of ''Atavism'' in 2005, the band officially shortened its name to Slough Feg. Whitehorse Hill is a hill in the Berkshire Downs in Oxfordshire, England, west of Wantage. At , it is the highest point in Oxfordshire. Uffington Castle lies on the summit of the hill, and the Uffington White Horse is on the hill's northern slope. The hill and an adjacent area below, including Dragon Hill and The Manger, make up a biological and geological Site of Special Scientific Interest. The Manger, a dry valley below the hill, is a Geological Conservation Review site. It provides evidence of solifluction (slow slipping of soil downhill due to repeated freezing and thawing) during at least one cold stage of the Pleistocene.
