Jerome Muhammad (September 14, 1967 – June 16, 2019), born Jerome Washington, better known by his stage name Shorty, was an American rapper, producer, gang intervention Activism, activist, and member of Ice Cube, Ice Cube's spin-off Gold hip hop group Da Lench Mob. Early life Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Shorty's mother Mabel Washington moved him and his older brother Jeff to Los Angeles CA in 1968. Jerome competed locally as a The Lockers, pop lock dancer with other friends in his neighborhood. The dance team put aside dancing in order to protect their neighborhood from rival groups and formed “Marvin Avenue Gangster Crips” in Los Angeles, CA of which Shorty an adolescent was a founding member of the street organization. Yo-Yo (rapper)
Yolanda "Yo-Yo" Whitaker (born August 4, 1971) is an American rapper and actress from South Los Angeles. Much of Yo-Yo's music advocates female empowerment. She is the protégé of gangsta rapper Ice Cube. Yo-Yo has dubbed her crew the IBWC, Intelligent Black Woman's Coalition. She also performed on a couple of stages with Shock G's group Digital Underground. Guerillas In Tha Mist
''Guerillas in tha Mist'' is the debut studio album by American hip hop group Da Lench Mob, who originally appeared on Ice Cube's debut solo album, ''AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted''. The titular "Guerillas in tha Mist" was a hit at the release of the album. The album was produced by Ice Cube, who is also featured throughout the album though uncredited. The album peaked at number 24 on the ''Billboard'' 200, number 4 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on December 18, 1992, indicating US sales of over 500,000 units. The single "Freedom Got an A.K." peaked at number 7 on the Hot Rap Songs. The album title is a pun on the popular movie title ''Gorillas in the Mist'' and guerrilla warfare. Public Enemy is an American Hip-hop, hip hop group formed in Roosevelt, New York, in 1985 by Chuck D and Flavor Flav. Elijah Muhammad (born Elijah Robert Poole; October 7, 1897 – February 25, 1975) was an American religious leader, black separatist, and self-proclaimed Messenger of Allah who led the Nation of Islam (NOI) from 1933 until his death in 1975. Elijah Muhammad was also the teacher and mentor of Malcolm X, Louis Farrakhan, Muhammad Ali, and his son, Warith Deen Mohammed. The New Music Seminar (NMS) originated in New York City as an event dedicated to education and the celebration of music throughout history, taking place each June from 1980-1995. After several years, the annual NMS was relaunched in 2009. Above the Law was an American hip hop group from Pomona, California, founded in 1989 by Cold 187um, Lay Law, KMG the Illustrator, Go Mack, and DJ Total K-Oss. Biography In 1989, the group signed with Eazy-E's Ruthless Records. While there, the group became an additional influence in pioneering with N.W.A. Their first album on Ruthless, 1990's ''Livin' Like Hustlers'', featured a guest appearance from N.W.A and production from Dr. Dre. Above the Law member Cold 187 um worked closely with Dre on production, and the two greatly influenced each other. The songs " Murder Rap" and "Untouchable" became minor hits from the album.
