Shane Parker (footballer)
Shane Parker (born 18 February 1973) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Fremantle Football Club. He made his debut in 1995, Fremantle's inaugural year in the Australian Football League. In 2005, Parker became the first person to play 200 games for the club and celebrated the match by kicking the 10th goal in his career, his first goal in almost 4 seasons. He was known for his reliability in defence and his reclusive nature. On 24 August 2007 after 238 games, Parker announced his retirement from AFL football (along with fellow player Troy Cook). Parker was the Dockers longest serving player for Fremantle until it was broken by Matthew Pavlich in 2016. Pavlich's record was however broken by David Mundy in 2021. Parker attended St Stephen's School, Perth and is a devout Christian. Shane Andrew Parker (born 29 April 1970 in Adelaide, South Australia) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Australia and a four time South Australian Champion. Career Australia Parker attended LeFevre High School in the Adelaide suburb of Semaphore South, and started in speedway at the Under-16 Sidewinders Speedway in Wingfield in the early 1980s. He won the South Australian Under-16 Championships in 1983 and 1984 and went on to win the Australian Under-16 Championship in 1985 at Sidewinders (defeating Leigh Adams), and finish third in 1986 at the Olympic Park Speedway in Mildura, before turning 16 and graduating into the senior ranks. Shane Parker (bishop)
Shane Alexander Donaldson Parker is a Canadian Anglican bishop. Elected and consecrated in 2020, he is the 10th diocesan bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa in the Anglican Church of Canada. Prior to his election as bishop, Parker was dean of Ottawa and rector of Christ Church Cathedral. Biography Parker was born in Edmonton to Irish-Canadian parents and raised in western Canada. He did undergraduate and graduate studies at Carleton University and worked as a sociologist prior to studying theology at Saint Paul University. Parker was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Ottawa in 1987. He is married to Katherine Shadbolt and they have three adult children. As a priest, Parker served in parish ministry and as an archdeacon prior to his appointment as dean of Ottawa in 1999. As dean, he appointed Albert Dumont, an Algonquin poet who had renounced Christianity for indigenous beliefs, as "indigenous spiritual teacher-in-residence" at Christ Church Cathedral.
