Sarcófago
Sarcófago was a Brazilian extreme metal band formed in 1985. They were fronted by Sepultura's original singer, Wagner Lamounier, and Geraldo Minelli. The front cover of the band's debut album, '' I.N.R.I.'', is regarded as a great influence on black metal's corpse paint style make-up. That record is also considered one of the " first wave" albums that helped shape the genre. The band broke up in 2000, after releasing the '' Crust'' EP. Former members, minus Wagner, played throughout Brazil in 2006 under the moniker Tributo ao Sarcófago (Tribute to Sarcófago). In 2009, rumors surfaced that the original ''I.N.R.I.'' line-up were reuniting for a small, high-profile tour, but proved to be false. Rotting (EP)
''Rotting'' is an EP by the Brazilian extreme metal band Sarcófago, released in August 1989. Prior to recording, drummer Eduardo "D.D. Crazy" left the band to join Sextrash and was replaced by Manoel "M. Joker" Henriques. The EP was recorded following a brief tour to promote the band's debut release '' I.N.R.I.'' and was licensed to Music for Nations in Europe. The EP's cover was censored upon its release in the US. Later, the EP was seized by the authorities from European importers and distributors, once again because of its controversial cover, which depicts what appears to be a traditional grim reaper making out with Jesus Christ.Nemitz, 1994, p. 59. Black Metal
Black metal is an extreme metal, extreme subgenre of heavy metal music. Wagner Lamounier
Wagner Moura Lamounier (born 30 April 1969) is a Brazilian musician who achieved fame for having been the original vocalist of Brazilian thrash metal band Sepultura, and for having created and led the first-wave black/thrash metal band Sarcófago from 1985 until it disbanded in 2000. Life and career Lamounier sang briefly with Sepultura during the early part of the band's career, contributing the lyrics to the song "Antichrist" (a reference to his own moniker) featured on the band's first release '' Bestial Devastation''. He then moved to his own band (Sarcófago) which, while less commercially successful than Sepultura, is widely hailed as a major influence on the most extreme spectrum of metal music, being revered by black, thrash and death metal fans. The first wave of black metal was a musical movement of black metal which lasted from around 1982 until 1991. Stylistically distinct from the genre's quintessential later sound, the earliest bands in this first wave played a primordial form of extreme metal that was still indebted to traditional heavy metal music, heavy metal. Mutilator
Mutilator was a thrash / death metal band, formed in 1985 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. They released two full-length records through Cogumelo Records in the 1980s. Biography Mutilator was formed in 1985 in Belo Horizonte by vocalist/guitarist Kleber, guitarist/lyricist Alexander "Magoo", bassist Ricardo Neves and his brother Rodrigo on drums, originally under the name of Desaster. The band changed their name to Mutilator following the addition of Sepultura roadie Silvio SDN on vocals. This line-up recorded the ''Bloodstorm'' and ''Grave Deseccration'' demos, and contributed two tracks (''Believers of Hell'' and ''Nuclear Holocaust'') to the Cogumelo Records' compilation ''Warfare Noise I'' in 1986. By 1987 Silvio SDN had left the band, and the band recorded their debut album for Cogumelo, ''Immortal Force'' with Kleber on vocals. Holocausto is a thrash metal band from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. They were formed in 1985 by Marco Antônio, Valério Exterminator and Rodrigo dos Anjos.
