Sambhaji or Chhatrapati Sambhaji was the eldest son of Shivaji and the second ruler of the Maratha kingdom. Sambhaji (Sambhajiraje Shivajiraje Bhonsle, ; 14 May 1657 – 11 March 1689), also known as Shambhuraje, ruled from 1681 to 1689 as the second king ( Chhatrapati) of the Maratha Empire, a prominent state in early modern India. He was the eldest son of Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire. At the age of nine, Sambhaji was taken as a political hostage of the Mughal Empire, to guarantee his father's compliance with the treaty of Purandar. He later accompanied his father to Agra where both were placed under house arrest by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb; they subsequently escaped. Sambhaji Bhide
Sambhaji Bhide Hindutva activist from Maharashtra. Bhide, a native of Sangli district, was a full-time worker for the Hindu-nationalist organisation, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, before leaving to form his own organisation, the Shiv Pratishthan Hindustan, in the late 1980s. The organisation claimed to spread the teachings of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his son Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. He has a number of followers in Sangli, Kolhapur, Pune, Belgaum, Mumbai and Satara parts of Maharashtra and Karnataka. Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati (born 11 February 1971) is an Indian politician, who served as the member in the upper house of the Parliament of India. He is heir to Kolhapur royal family as the 13th direct descendant of the Maratha king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and great-great-grandson of Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu of Kolhapur. Low profile and soft-spoken, he was the face of Maratha protest for reservation in 2011–19. He is currently an independent politician. Sambhaji II
Sambhaji II or Sambhaji I of Kolhapur (1698 – 18 December 1760) was a Raja of Kolhapur from Bhonsle dynasty. He was a grandson of Shivaji and the second son of Chhatrapati Rajaram with his second wife, Rajasbai. After defeat by Shahu, Sambhaji's stepmother, Tarabai then set up a rival court in Kolhapur with her son Shivaji II as Raja of Kolhapur in 1710, who then ruled as Shivaji I of Kolhapur line. However, in 1714, Rajasbai instigated a coup against Tarabai and installed her own son, Sambhaji II (titled as Sambhaji I of Kolhapur) on the Kolhapur throne. Sambhaji ruled from 1714 to 1760.
