Clarence Seedorf Stadium is a football stadium in Oost, Suriname. The stadium holds 3,500 and is the Surinamese home of Suriprofs, as well as the home stadium of S.V. The Brothers competing in the SVB Eerste Klasse. The driving force behind the stadium is Surinamese-Dutch International footballer Clarence Seedorf whom the stadium was named after. History The stadium was built in Baka Para, on the property of the Seedorf family. It was built and intended as a gift to the society of Suriname. Para District
Para is a district of northern Suriname. Para's capital city is Onverwacht, with other towns including Paranam, and Zanderij. Para has a population of 24,700 and an area of 5,393 km2. The district is the mining and forestry centre of Suriname, with many large bauxite mining operations operating. The district is a mixture of forest and savannas. History The northern part of Para is one of the oldest cultivated areas of Suriname, and has been home to sugar and tobacco plantation since the 17th century which were mainly located along the Suriname River and the Para Creek. SVB Eerste Klasse
The SVB Tweede Divisie is second-highest division overall in the Surinamese football league system after the Topklasse, where the top club is promoted to each season. The weakest club is relegated to the Lidbondentoernooi. The league was previously known as the SVB Eerste Klasse but became the Hoofdklasse for the 2016–17 season after Suriname's top division changed its name from Hoofdklasse to Topklasse, only to be rebranded as the Tweede Divisie for the 2017–18 season. Clarence Clyde Seedorf (; born 1 April 1976) is a Dutch professional football manager and former player. He is regarded by many to be one of the best midfielders of his generation. SVB Hoofdklasse
The SVB Eerste Divisie is the highest football championship for clubs run by the Surinaamse Voetbal Bond. The Topklasse is at the top of the system of Surinamese football championships. The league currently comprises twelve teams and operates a system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from November to June of the next year, with teams playing 30 games in the regular season. The SVB Derde Divisie ( en, Member Associations Tournament) is an annual football tournament organized by the Surinamese Football Association (SVB) since 2006. It is also known as the SURIBET Lidbondentoernooi due to sponsorship. The tournament is contested by the winners and runners-up of the districts leagues from the 20 regional member associations of the SVB.
