Rudolf's Railway
The Rudolf Railway (German: ''Rudolfsbahn'') refers to a railway in Austria connecting Amstetten and the Italian border near Tarvisio, along with a branch from Kastenreith to St. Valentine. Its name is derived from the ''k.k. priv. Kronprinz Rudolf-Bahn Gesellschaft'' ( Imperial–royal, "privileged"—by the grant of a concession—Crown Prince Rudolf Railway Company, ''KRB''). The main line, which was opened from 1868 to 1873, ran on the St. Valentin–Kastenreith––Selzthal– Schoberpass– St. Michael– Neumarkt saddle– St. Veit an der Glan–Feldkirchen in Kärnten–Villach– Tarvisio Centrale route. The section of the line within the current borders of Italy now runs over the new Tarvisio–Udine railway (opened in November 2000) through . Railway electrification systems using at are used on transport railways in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, and Norway. Ybbs
Ybbs () is a river in Lower Austria. Its drainage basin is . Its source is located on the Zellerrain Pass near Mariazell. In the beginning, the river is called , then onwards from the border between Lower Austria and Styria up to Lunz am See it is called . From there until its confluence to the Danube at Ybbs an der Donau, it is finally called Ybbs. The Ybbs has a strongly meandering course and flows for around from the South in a northward direction. Along the river there are many metal and lumber industry plants. Wien Westbahnhof Railway Station
Wien Westbahnhof (Vienna West station) is a major Austrian railway station, the original starting point of the West railway (''Westbahn'') and a former terminus of international rail services. In 2015, its role changed with the opening of Vienna's new main station and Westbahnhof now is mainly a commuter station and the terminus of private rail operator WESTbahn's intercity service from Salzburg. Schärding
Schärding ( , Bavarian name: Scharing) is a town in northern Austrian state of Upper Austria, the capital of the district of the same name, and a major port on the Inn River. Western Railway (Austria)
The Western Railway (german: Westbahn) is a two-track, partly four-track, electrified railway line in Austria that runs from Vienna to Salzburg via St. Pölten and Linz Hauptbahnhof and is one of the major lines of Austria. It was originally opened as the ''Empress Elisabeth Railway'' in 1858 (Vienna–Linz). The line is owned and operated by Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). Empress Elisabeth Railway
The Empress Elisabeth Railway (german: Kaiserin Elisabeth-Bahn, KEB) was the name of a former railway company during the time of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Its rail network was centred on the Western Railway line from Vienna to Salzburg with a branch to Passau. The company was nationalised by the Imperial Royal Austrian State Railways in 1884.
