Roker Report
Roker Report is an online fanzine, blog and accompanying series of podcasts and livestreams related to English football club Sunderland and the club's women's team. Roker Report has interviewed many high-profile former players and celebrities and gained significant attention among Sunderland fans during 2018 when Stewart Donald and Charlie Methven gave exclusive interviews to the podcast team after buying the club. Roker Report has performed an annual charity drive since 2019, and has raised over £120,000 for local charities. Fanzine Roker Report was formed in December 2010 by Simon Walsh and was sold to Vox Media In 2011. A new management and editorial group formed in 2016 with the aim of improving the quality and quantity of the site's content. A substantial recruitment phase took place in the years that followed. Fanzine
A fanzine (blend word, blend of ''fan (person), fan'' and ''magazine'' or ''-zine'') is a non-professional and non-official publication produced by fan (person), enthusiasts of a particular cultural phenomenon (such as a literary or musical genre) for the pleasure of others who share their interest. The term was coined in an October 1940 science fiction fanzine by Russ Chauvenet and first popularized within science fiction fandom, and from there the term was adopted by other communities. Kevin Ball
Kevin Ball (born 12 November 1964) is an English former professional footballer who played for Portsmouth, Sunderland, Fulham and Burnley. Since his retirement, he has held a number of positions at Sunderland, including twice being caretaker manager, and has recently retired from working as club ambassador. Playing career Born in Hastings, Ball began his career in central defence but eventually moved into central midfield. He played 389 games for Sunderland in all competitions, scoring 27 goals. His career took off with a spell at Portsmouth and, after leaving Sunderland, he had spells at Fulham and Burnley. Whilst at Sunderland, he played in the 1992 FA Cup Final where they lost 2–0 to Liverpool. FA Women's Championship
The Women's Championship (formerly The FA Women's Championship) is the second-highest division of women's football in England. The division was established in 2014 as the FA Women's Super League 2 (WSL 2). WSL 2 replaced the previous level 2 division, the FA Women's Premier League National Division, FA Women's Premier League (WPL) National Division, which ended after the 2012–13 FA Women's Premier League, 2012–13 season. The WPL's last national division champions, Sunderland A.F.C. Women, were not promoted and also became the first winners of WSL 2 in the 2014 FA WSL#FA WSL 2, 2014 season. Bethany Jane Mead (born 9 May 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for the Women's Super League club Arsenal and the England national team. A creative and prolific forward, she holds the all-time most assists and all-time second-most goal contributions records in the WSL. Rachel Furness (born 19 June 1988) is a professional Association football, footballer who plays for FA Women's Championship club Liverpool F.C. Grace McCatty (born 28 September 1989) is an English footballer who plays as a defender for Sunderland in FA Women's National League North. Prior to her move to the North-East with Durham, she featured eight times in the UEFA Women's Champions League for Bristol City. Playing career Bristol City, 2006–2017 McCatty signed with Bristol City ahead of the 2011 FA WSL season. Keira Ramshaw
Keira Ramshaw (born 12 January 1994) is a former English footballer who played as a midfielder or striker for FA Women's Championship club Sunderland. Ramshaw had spent her entire senior career with Sunderland, making her debut for the club in 2010, and was part of the club's promotion to the FA Women's Super League in 2014. Melanie Copeland (née Reay) is an English professional Association football, football Manager (association football), manager and former player who manages FA Women's National League club Sunderland A.F.C. Sebastian Larsson
Bengt Ulf Sebastian Larsson (; born 6 June 1985) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Beginning his career at hometown club IFK Eskilstuna, Larsson was signed by Arsenal. He made three Premier League appearances for the Gunners, before joining Birmingham City, initially on loan for the 2006–07 season, before a permanent transfer in the winter of 2007. Kevin Phillips (footballer)
Kevin Mark Phillips (born 25 July 1973) is an English former professional footballer who is currently manager of NPL Premier Division club South Shields. A former forward, Phillips was the Premier League top scorer in the 1999–2000 season with 30 goals for Sunderland, a tally which won him the European Golden Shoe. Niall Quinn
Niall John Quinn (honorary MBE; born 6 October 1966) is an Irish former professional footballer, manager, businessman and sports television pundit. As a player he was a striker who played top flight football for Arsenal, Manchester City and Sunderland, with spells in the Premier League for both City and the Black Cats. Quinn also received 92 caps for the Republic of Ireland national football team, scoring 21 times, which makes him Ireland's second highest goalscorer of all time.
